Join in the fun of the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s Big Little Tent Festival this August bank holiday weekend
To find out what happened when the Caravan and Motorhome launched the Big Little Tent Festival (and made history!) by organising the first ever overnight stay on the hallowed turf of the Kia Oval, visit www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNd7Sl-kIwA
Now in its fourth year, the Big Little Tent Festival was set up to encourage people to experience the magic of the great outdoors by pitching their tents in their own back garden and creating their own festival. The festival is an ideal way to introduce families and children to the joys of camping. Invite friends and neighbours to attend and join in the fun – have a BBQ, play some music, string up the fairy lights, tell stories and inspire the whole family to enjoy the great outdoors (but with the facilities of your own home within walking distance!).
Keen festival hosts are encouraged to sign up online at www.camc.com/bltf to register for (or download) a free festival pack, which includes bunting, flags and wristbands to enhance the experience! All those who register will also have the option to enter a prize draw to win a weekend in a yurt courtesy of Experience Freedom from the Caravan and Motorhome Club. Festival hosts and attendees can also follow all the fun on Twitter and chart their own experiences using the hashtag #BLTF18.
Although perhaps best known for catering to the needs of caravan, motorhome and campervan owners, the Caravan and Motorhome Club offers tent pitches at over 40 of its sites. Harvey Alexander, marketing director of the Caravan and Motorhome Club said: “Camping is a great and cost effective way to get away with the family and make the most of the fantastic weather we’re having, so it’s no surprise we’ve seen such a rise in bookings. Many of us fell in love with camping as kids after pitching a tent in our back garden and we hope the Big Little Tent Festival will encourage more young families and groups of friends to enjoy a night under canvas and all the adventures and fun that it will bring. It is a fantastic way to introduce people to the joys of the great outdoors – we saw a great response last year with hundreds of people taking to their back gardens and spending the night outside, relaxing, having fun and enjoying a different experience with friends and family.”
