Day 1 – 4: Camping Les Saules and Château de Chaumont Gardens

Day 1 – Arrive at Camping Les Saules

Upon arrival at the campsite, settle into your pitch and then take the opportunity to meet your fellow members with a welcome drink, followed by a group meal in the evening.

Day 2 - Free day at your leisure

Today is free for you to do as you please. You might like to unwind and relax by the pool or you can hire bikes on site to explore the local area.

Day 3 – Tour of Château de Chaumont and its gardens

Discover the fabulous International Festival of Gardens in the château grounds. Now in its 28th year the festival runs throughout the summer and features a range of different garden designs for you to discover. Perhaps you’ll even take home some ideas for your own garden. Afterwards enjoy a river trip on a traditional Loire “toue” with an aperitif on board.

Day 4 – Bird watching on site

There is the opportunity to go bird watching on site today, with the LPO (National Bird Protection Association). Over 50 species of birds can be found in the local area, making this a great opportunity to spot some of them.

Day 5 – Enjoy a day at Amboise

Stroll around the town’s beautiful market before enjoying a visit to the Château de Clos Lucé, famous for being the residence of Leonardo da Vinci. The Loire River flows past the town adding even more views to enjoy.

Day 6 - Free day at your leisure

Enjoy a day at your leisure today. You might want to return to Amboise to further explore the town or perhaps enjoy a leisurely lunch while soaking up the local ambience.

Day 7 – Visit the city of Blois

Today offers a visit to the nearby and picturesque city of Blois. Enjoy plenty of free time to explore the city and do some shopping as well as enjoying an excursion to the beautiful Renaissance château in the city centre, once home to King Louis XII.

Day 8 – Excursion to Château de Chambord

Enjoy an excursion to this spectacular château, the largest and one of the most distinctive in the Loire Valley. Situated within a decorative moat, the château is a combination of French medieval and Renaissance influences which makes it one of the most recognisable châteaux in the region.

Day 9 – 12: Château de Cheverny

Day 9 - Free day at your leisure

Day 10 – Discover the Château de Cheverny

This excursion will include a visit to the castle and gardens as well as a relaxing boat trip allowing you to view the grounds from a different angle. After touring the château comes perhaps the highlight of the day as you visit a local wine producer to partake in a wine tasting session.

Day 11 - Free day at your leisure

Enjoy a final day at leisure at the campsite or perhaps there is another part of the Loire Valley that you’d like to explore at your own pace. In the evening there will be a group farewell meal.

Day 12 – Depart campsite before midday
