Disappointing
Camping de StrasbourgBooked for a 2 week stay in July/August, which was admittedly too long - 4 days/nights would have been adequate. The pitches were ridiculously small, even for our little outfit, we found them very overgrown with bushes, poorly maintained and the ground was basically just mud, which turned into a quagmire when it rained. There were some interesting places to visit, but they were easily an hours drive. The site states it has free Wi-Fi, but it dips in and out at a whim and is very slow. The park is a nice walk to the tram stop, but watch out for push bikes, there are many cyclists and they hurtle along. On exiting the camp it is very difficult to see owing to the position of the post box.
On the plus side the staff were friendly, the facilities clean and the tram into town was very regular and easy to use. The local church bell chiming every quarter hour was lovely to hear. The proximity to Germany was good. On the whole I would only recommend this site for a short stopover or a weekend break, definitely not worth the 4 stars displayed at the entrance.
