Why stay here ...

This friendly site, set in the peaceful, wooded grounds of a 19th century château, is ideally located for a stopover at the beginning or end of a holiday, but also worth a longer stay. You'll be greeted warmly by the English-speaking staff at reception, and children will be kept entertained with a pool, games room and play area. chateau out-building houses the good restaurant and bar.

Dogs will enjoy walks through the woodland, and can be taken onto some beaches nearby (ask at reception). Many visitors overlook the area’s attractions, but the rugged Opal Coast is well worth exploring. The port town of Boulogne-sur-Mer has an array of ancient monuments that bear witness to its 2,000-year history, while Saint-Omer’s cathedral and public gardens are a delight to discover and Eperlecques’ Blockhaus, where early V1 bombs were launched on London, makes for a chilling but interesting trip.

Back Again

We have used this site a number of times, the first was a 10 day holiday, since then as a stop over on our way down France or prior to catching the ferry. The facilities are superb and the site restaurant is good, ideal after a long drive to have someone cook you a meal!! The reception is always welcoming with a smile. Certainly recommend this site for either a break or stop over.

Excellent 3 night stay

Campsite easy to find , just under 30 minutes from Calais. We used this as a test for taking our dog to Europe for the first time. Warm welcome from Julian who kindly booked us a vet appointment in a nearby town. Campsite well laid out, big pitches, ours are was flat but a few looked to have a slight slope. Good food at reasonable price at the restaurant/bar. Blockhouse interesting and very moving, ask at campsite reception for discount vouchers. We used our bikes a lot and followed the local trails. As others have said local supermarket is an easy 5 minutes by bike. We had an excellent stay and will definitely be back.

Great stopover site, worth a few days at least

Stayed here having come across on the tunnel - being only 30 minutes from the terminal it is an easy journey. Whilst it is a great stopover location it is more than that, there are many historical locations in the area which could easily fill up to a week and the facilities on site are very family friendly so something for everyone here. Forest just 15 minutes walk away is great for walking the dog. On site restaurant is good. Carrefour just down the road for shopping and Diesel.

Great stopover near Calais

Friendly and welcoming. Lots of facilities for the kids such as a great play area, nice swimming pools and bouncy castle. Nice clean and tidy site. Short distance from Calais’s ferry terminal and it has a big supermarket and petrol station just around the corner. Not sure if there is much more to do in this area as I have only ever stayed one night.

Excellent Site close to Calais

We have just spent 10 nights on this excellent site - On arrival we were quickly checked in by friendly reception staff, our pitch was very spacious, slightly sloping and fairly close to the shower and toilets. The toilets and showers were always clean, with plenty of hot water - the push button showers were no problem plenty of water pressure gave a nice powerful shower. We bought bread and croissants most morning from the baker who visits every morning from 08:00 to 09:00, there is no shop onsite, but a Carrefour supermarket with fuel is a 2 minute drive away (Turn left out of main entrance and it is directly across the roundabout). We had 3 children in our party and they all had a great time making full use of the 2 swimming pools and the football pitch, they made some great friends. The site is well looked after, clean and tidy with very nice staff who are always on hand if needed. There was always plenty of activity with the comings and goings of the one nighters, but this never caused any issues for us. As others have mentioned this site is great for longer stays - it's a pity that so many simply pass through on their way South, or back to the ferry. Calais is an easy 25 minute drive, and there is plenty to do and see in the area. Did not use the restaurant, so can't comment - however some of our party used the takeaway and did not rate the food - apparently frozen supermarket Pizza's and chips. No real negatives to report - great well looked after site in a nice area
