Why stay here ...

This site, set in 30 acres of forest just across from the banks of the River Loire, is an ideal base from which to explore the region. Well-tended and attractive, it is owned and run by the Saint Cast family, who work hard to ensure everyone has a pleasant stay.

The heated pool complex has slides and flumes, as well as a paddling pool for younger children, there is fishing and pony riding on site too. The restaurant, bar and terrace provide a community hub where guests can mix.

There’s no shortage of attractions in the area, including the Loire Valley’s famous châteaux, abbeys and wine cellars. Not to be missed is the mushroom museum, housed in man-made caves. Take a boat trip to Saumur market with wine tasting on your return journey. With plenty of cycle routes in the area, guests can get about by bike or simply enjoy one or two leisurely rides.

IDEAL FOR FAMILIES WITH YOUNGER CHILDREN

Le Domaine de la Brèche
We visited this site for 4 nights in August and, on arrival, had the slowest check in ever due to staff continually answering the phone so it was 30 minutes before we were shown to our pitch. The site is huge though very well laid out so you don't feel crammed in. There's numerous play areas around the site so the children don't congregate in one place The reception is modern, shop well stocked and there is a bar which we didn't visit as the outside tables were very dirty The swimming pool complex is disappointing - the lining of the pool is loose and there is uneven terracing. There are not enough sunbeds for the size of the site and, when it opens at 1000am, people are queued to put towels on beds and then leave!! When I spoke to reception, they said there was little they could do to stop it though staff around the pool should address it - what staff?? We didn't see any We visited Saumur which you can cycle to from site (around 40 minutes and flat) though if you choose to drive, its free parking. If you like steak, highly recommend Keatings steak house in the main square, delicious. Also the food in the site restaurant is excellent Just another point - the club description says on the banks of the River Loire - the site is not. The river flows the other side of a very busy road and does not have beaches and therefore unaccessible Would recommend this site for families with younger children

visited site late June 2019

Le Domaine de la Brèche
Stayed at this site for 8 nights in late June, found the staff could speak good English and were very helpful and friendly. The site is very large with a number of chalets and campers, the pitches are large but we found that our pitch, which was a service pitch with water and waste, was very uneven, had large bare patches of grass and was under large trees, pitches in other areas appeared to be in a much better condition. There are 2 shower blocks which are modern and cleaned twice daily, the bar and outside seating area is a very pleasant area to sit and have a drink in and the pool area is very inviting. In my opinion the site does need a little TLC re the hedges need trimming and the bar/pool area needs tidying up. Saumur is a short drive away with plenty of free parking, there are lots of shops and street cafes/bars and there is a large supermarket and petrol station on the edge of the centre. Overall on loverly site in a nice area.

Our trip to sumar june 18

Le Domaine de la Brèche
We visited this site in early June we found the staff at the site polite and friendly all happy to help well spoken English had no problem, we found the site well maintained and a lot have care taken in the park, It as a nice swimming pool and bar area to relax, also the information area as lots of places to see. We had a service pitch witch was nice just saves fetching the water, the pitchers had a little ware but they was level and separated by hedges which make them a bit private, we had twelve day at the site wheater was a bit up and down but had some nice day as well. their is plenty to do are the area you can go into sumar lovely town to visit market day is well worth a visit, our if you like to visit any of the chatue around the area plenty to visit as well if you like wine plenty of vin yards in the area as well. Also their is a supermarket and Lidl not fare form the site about 4KM from the site as well you can get fuel form the supermarket well signed for the supermarket. This site is well worth a visit we had a excellent stay will go back at some point

Excellent site in a lovely location

Le Domaine de la Brèche
This is a lovely site within easy reach of Saumur and its many attractions. We opted for a serviced pitch which was very large, private and with plenty of sun and shade. The waste outlets are a little high for caravans which meant that waste water didn't always drain away very well. The caravan next to us had to give up with their waste as the water didn't drain at all. The public areas are very good with a bar, small shop, ice cream, station and good takeway. We used the takeaway a couple of times as it was reasonable and the food simple but good. We didn't use the adjoining restaurant which seemed expensive compared to the many good restaurants in Saumur and surrounding villages. The pool area was lovely and the pool warm and welcoming. The covered pool was nice but could benefit from refurbishing. The shower toilet blocks were modern, heated with plenty of hot water and were generally clean although a little more attention to detail by the cleaners would have improved them even more. Would highly recommend this site which we would certainly visit again.

Great site in a lovely location

Le Domaine de la Brèche
This is a lovely site within easy reach of Saumur and all of its attractions. We opted for a serviced pitch which we were very happy with, it was private, very large and with plenty of shade. The pools are very nice (the indoor pool would benefit from refurbishing) the bar, shop and reception area are very good and welcoming. We didn't try the restaurant which seemed on the expensive side compared with many of the restaurants in Saumur and surrounding villages. The toilet blocks were very good overall, modern, heated spacious and plenty of hot water. A greater attention to detail with regard to cleaning would improve them as the cleaners seemed to forget the floors. We would definitely return to this site.
