Why stay here ...

A large and spacious friendly family site, Séquoia Parc has a rural location and is set in the grounds of a château in the heart of the Charente-Maritime region. Its bar and restaurant are housed in beautifully restored outbuildings and its generous pitches are grassy and separated by shrubs to maintain privacy.

The site’s highlight is its fantastic pool complex, which features water slides, a lazy river and splash pool for youngsters. There’s also a wellness centre in which adults can relax with a massage, sauna, hammam or spa treatment. The great facilities also include kids clubs, evening entertainment including live music, horse riding, mini farm and free fitness gym (for adults).

For those wishing to stay active, there’s plenty to do, from a visit to the beach, 7km away, to day trips to Royan, La Palmyre Zoo or the Ile d’Oléron. Those willing to explore further can visit Cognac and its vineyards (some of the Cognac Houses offer tours) or venture up to La Rochelle.

3 night stay May 2023

Séquoia Parc
What a lovely site, even the approach is welcoming & the staff were just the same. It is a very large site & my review is based on our stay mid May so when full during peak season it would be quite hectic!!! There were only 5/6 people in the massive pool complex but it was rather 'chilly' & certainly not for me :-) Facilities are very clean. Our pitch was of reasonable size but if I were to visit during peak season I think I would pay the extra charge for a premium pitch with shower/toilet facilities (as they even come with a toilet seat)..... Restaurant food was very good, as was the service, so much so that we ate there twice. It would be interesting to see how they cope during a very busy period & if the quality & service remain the same..... Am thinking about re-booking for next summer with my grandson as he was amazed with the photos of the pool complex. We used the Spa/Sauna facility. Highly recommended.

A great place to take the kids

Séquoia Parc
We visited this site in August 2022 with my son his wife and his family (6,7 and 1 years), we booked our ferry and site through the club and my son traveled independently. The journey from St Malo was easy and relaxed. On arrival on site the booking in process was hassle free and quick. Our pitch was of a reasonable size with a slight slope with lots of pine cones scattered about but otherwise ok. We had an all service pitch, the water connection was new to me and I couldn't fit my snap on type connector, a visit to reception resulted in a handyman at the pitch within 10 minutes, he fitted an adaptor and we were away. The toilet blocks appeared fairly new and in good condition, they were kept spotless throughout the day. This site during the high season, caters for families with children, don't go and then complain that the place is full of kids. The pool complex is fantastic, plenty of staff on hand to ensure water safety, a great kiddies pool with mini slides and an indoor pool for poor weather. The kids clubs (included in he price) is a real bonus for families, the children are safe and entertained for a few hours per day which lets the parents (and grandparents) relax. The children's entertainment in the evening was, in my view, pitched at the right level for the young audience. The only downside is the lack of staff serving at the bar in the main square, large queues would develop in the afternoon and evening, spoiling an otherwise relaxing time. The area we were in quietened down after 2300 hours, so no problem with getting to sleep. Basically, if you want to have a fun holiday with the children, go to this site, it is great. If you feel that you want peace and quiet, go somewhere else.

Dissapointed and can't see how it has a 5 star rating!

Séquoia Parc
This site is great for parents who want to sunbathe all day while the kids run about and take up the pool with large inflatable toys. Not a good site for couples who want some peace and quiet but then we did go in August just at the start of the school holidays. The shop is well stocked and the takeaway pizzas are good (about 12 euros each). The main issue with this site is the mosquitos - it is swarming with them and although the staff say they spray to keep them down, I did not see any activity of this type whilst I was there for 6 nights. The entertainment is for young children only. Showers etc. are clean (ish) and new but men ere in the ladies showers and apparently women were in the mens! We arrived early and our allocated pitch was free but free of any grass so we asked to move. Initially we were told there weren't any available but on pursuing this we were offered 3 alternatives! The site needs a signpost at the entrance as it's easy to miss. Good location.

Arrived in mid August.Easy to find if you use the clubs directions.Given a pitch close to the swimming complex and play area.Wash facilities and main square near by. Washrooms average-pool complex very good.Being near the end of the season the shop was starting to empty of stock. Mosquito heaven on our pitch!

Can we come back next year?

Séquoia Parc
An excellent site that was easy to find- a relief for us first timers caravaning in france! Our one mistake was travelling from Pornic to this site in Marennes on a Saturday- traffic was a nightmare!! At no other time did we experience any issues though. We spent 10 nights here this August and loved every minute! The boys thought the pools & slide were AMAZING ... On the days that we wanted to spend all day at the pool we did join the queue at 9.30am ready for the area opening at 10am. Each time we were able to select our spot and happily lazed the days away. From this site we did day trips to Cognac- Hennesy tour was fab, La Rochelle- the Aquarium & Bunker were amazing & fort Boyard- great way to spend a morning. Don't be concerned if you have a shaded pitch, it was a relief to us in 36 degrees! Staff were helpful & helped us to pre- book our boat trip to fort Boyard. We had an amazing time and may find ourselves back in the future!!
