Why stay here ...

This established, beachside site close to Málaga is ideal for family holidays or for those seeking a little winter sun. With direct access to a sandy beach and a range of organised activities, from crafts and sports for children to Zumba and yoga for adults, it is a lively destination in high season. During the winter months guests can enjoy nature, birds and lovely walks on the beach.

Guests can unwind by the pool or with traditional Moroccan tea at the Teteria, which is well-stocked with books. The restaurant, meanwhile, offers daily menus, breakfasts and dinners and their specialities are paella and Mediterranean dishes. They also offer pizzas.

Málaga is a beautiful, historic city with a plethora of art galleries and excellent restaurants, as well as plenty to explore including its Roman amphitheatre and Moorish fortress. Visits to the impressive Alhambra at Granada, and to the spectacular caves at Nerja, are also worthwhile.

A bus stop to Málaga or Torre del Mar is located just 400 metres away from the campsite.

GO ANYWHERE ELSE

Playa Almayate Costa
This site is awful and why the CAMC offer this as an overseas holiday site is incomprehensible. This is not a site it is a car park and a large cramped one at that. It is miles away from anywhere albeit that there is direct access to the sea - not a beach worthy of the name Just dont go - pick somewhere else.

An interesting site

Playa Almayate Costa
All of the pitches are covered with a green mesh sun shade and you feel you are driving into a aircraft hanger with eerie green light. Temperatures in Spain were unusually high when we were there and we appreciated the shade. The facilities are quite good if somewhat unusual in layout. The beach access is immediate from the site. Almayate is about 20 mins walk away and has some shops and a generous helping of restaurants. The site restaurant is excellent, and there is a well stocked shop. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Relaxing if a little out of the way

Playa Almayate Costa
This was the first year the campsite opened for the winter, we do feel that more could have been made of the restaurant, bar and supermarket as the site is a good walk, or cycle ride, to the nearest restaurant and supermarket. The laundry room had no ironing boards and the hand dryer in the ladies did not work for the time we were there. On the positive side the staff were friendly and helpful. There is direct access to the beach. The toilet block was spotlessly clean.
