Why stay here ...

Situated in the heart of the Rioja winemaking region, this attractive site on the outskirts of Haro is well-managed with excellent facilities. It’s a quiet destination that gets busier at weekends and in summer, and is perfect for those looking to explore the region and enjoy the local wines.

Pitches vary in size and are separated by lush green trees and shrubs. The amenities are kept to a high standard and include a lovely outdoor swimming pool and a bar and restaurant serving a good selection of food.

The small town of Haro is a delight, being easily walkable and offering plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. Wine lovers will appreciate tastings at some of the best bodegas in the area, many of which are also within walking distance. The ports of Bilbao and Santander and A-68 motorway are within reach, making Haro a good place for stays on route to Southern Spain.

Wonderful stopover

De Haro
Stopped here for the night prior to sailing from Bilbao the following morning (1.10hours drive) very clean and friendly staff. Only a 10 min walk into Haro which offers a great plaza with bars and restaurants, couple of small supermarkets and several shops. Would definitely revisit.

Great location adjacent to a charming town and well run.

De Haro
We made a protracted 3 night stopover here in September 2018 en route from Santander to Benecassim, and is ideal both for a journey break and to learn about Rioja. A nice site close to the river and a shortish walk into a truly delightful town. Our pitch was a tight squeeze for the motorhome, but adequate. Sanitary facilities were spotlessly clean and regularly checked. The restaurant was acutely disappointing, but with the town on the doorstep with a great range of bars and restaurants, that was not a problem. Reception staff were charming, efficient and helpful (especially in helping with a medical issue). Supermarket nearby, and of course Bodegas all around. We very much like this site and town and intend to return.

Good location, close to the town and the wine!

De Haro
As previous reviews the site is a mixture of seasonal pitches and regular ones, some quite small. A popular choice seemed to be the large open field although people were pitching in quite a haphazard way. We found a good size pitch towards the back of site, helped by the time of year but I suspect in high season locating a good pitch might be difficult. We did not use the on site restaurant but did take the short walk into the old part of town one evening, plenty of choice to eat and drink. Facities were good, clean and hot water! We booked a wine tour with CVNE via reception for just 12€ each including a free glass, a very short walk away and well worth doing. As Motorhomer's fuel stop and supermarket (Lidl) has easy access and close location to the town make this an ideal place to visit. Stunning mountain scenery from the auto route too.

Overall Nice Site

De Haro
A good all round site. (I wish they would have separate areas for seasonal pitches and touring pitches in Spain) Haro, within walking distance, is an attractive town (and it has a Mercadona). The main Rioja Bodegas are also within walking distance from the site. The oldest (and best) Lopez de Heredia is worth a visit if you have time. Nice little site restaurant, limited chicken and chips type menu but good value and friendly staff. The bar sells basics like bread and milk. Sanitary blocks are OK and kept clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good base for exploring the Rioja region. Also of course as others have said Bilbao is just 'up the road'.

Splendid for Wine Lovers or NH on route North or South

De Haro
Very well run site with excellent facilities. This is also a wine lovers dream site with several 'caves' within walking distance of the site. The small town of Haro is also a delight and easily walkable with a good selection of restaurants/bars and shops. Access to the actual pitches can be tight due to narrow site roads but there is a 'field' within the site with EHU that facilitates larger outfits that can be used with de-coupling if required out of main season.
