A relaxing weekend hideaway!

Red Rocks Fishery
My husband, our dog, Reg, and I had a wonderful two night stay here in September 2023. The site is easy to find, well kept and the has everything you need with hard standings, EHUs and a great, well stocked little toilet building. We were left to our own devices, which was perfect. The site is surrounding by nature whilst being easy to get to from the M6, M65, M55 and M61. We will definitely be back in 2024!

OK for one night

Red Rocks Fishery
I stayed here for one night as a stop off. As a woman travelling alone I felt quite vulnerable at this site. There was no welcome or clear instruction. The site was partially flooded when I arrived and only one other unit there which was empty. To be fair no one can help the weather and it was a particularly wet day. The facilities are basic but clean enough. The ECH initially worked but then cut out. It has everything you need but probably could do with a little TLC.

Excellent site

Red Rocks Fishery
We were travelling from Scotland home to Devon and wanted a site to stop over which was close to the M6. This CL is excellent. Close to the M6 yet in the countryside, rural and peaceful. Lovely setting and nice walk with the dog down to the river. Easy access to water and waste points. Toilet and sink in shed - clean and acceptable. I can highly recommend this site and we will be using it again.

Hidden Gem!

Red Rocks Fishery
Very grateful to find this little bit of heaven at the last minute. Hard standing and EHU, so peaceful and birdsong concert morning and evening! Stunning setting overlooking a beautiful lake. Kind and helpful owner.

Embarrassing

Red Rocks Fishery
After going through the gates onto the driveway to the site we saw an extremely large American style outfit about to make a late departure at the far end. We indicated that they shouldn't proceed as we were already part the way along. They ignored our warning and continued regardless, forcing us to go onto the verge at the side of the driveway. We discovered that the verge was very wet and boggy and unfortunately left a tyre mark. We were just siting our caravan on the pitch when the site owner appeared and berated us in no uncertain terms for marking the grass before we had time to explain what had happened. We found the situation highly embarrassing and considered leaving. The following are some suggestions for the site owner: 1) Ascertain the facts before commenting. 2) Ensure pitches are vacated before the 12 noon cut off. 3) Only open the site during the drier months to preserve the grass.
