Days 1 - 2: Orlando

On arrival, you will take the transfer to your centrally located 4-star hotel where you will spend the next two nights. Orlando is your oyster here, with Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in spitting distance. Of course, you could simply relax by the pool and prepare for your upcoming aventure.

Days 3 - 4: Juno Beach
Distance: 160 miles
Suggested Campsite: Juno Ocean Walk RV Resort

Collect your motorhome from the Cruise America depot in Orlando and head east to the Atlantic for a stop at the world-famous Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Centre. Here you can take a tour to see the launch areas, giant rockets and spaceflight simulators and, if you’re lucky, meet a veteran astronaut.

They say the best way to experience Florida is a visit to The Palm Beaches and Boca Raton, so head south to the stunning area of Juno Beach. Make sure to visit the Loggerhead Marine Life Centre during sea turtle nesting season (May-August), they take you on a guided walk to watch the turtles up close.

Days 5 - 6: Dania Beach
Distance: 105 miles
Suggested Campsite: North Coast Park & Marina

Today you will head further south towards Palm Beach and Dania Beach. In Palm Beach, you can feel like a celebrity as you stroll through the Worth Avenue shopping district, dubbed the ‘Rodeo Drive of the East’. Make sure you allow some time to see some of the mansions including Henry Flagler’s, which is now one of the top sightseeing attractions of the area. Your destination for today is the North Coast which has been a favourite among motorhomers for fifty years, and where the sands of Dania Beach are just a few minutes away.

Days 7 - 8: Grassy Key
Distance: 126 miles
Suggested Campsite: Grassy Key RV Park & Resort

Continue south to Grassy Key where we recommend that you base yourself at the recently refurbished Grassy Key RV Park - make sure you book well in advance if you want a waterfront pitch. You should also try and visit the Dolphin Research Center for a closer look at the dolphins and sea lions that are cared for here.

Days 9 - 10: Key West
Distance: 55 miles
Suggested Campsite: Boyd’s Campground

On today’s journey, you will cross many bridges including the famous Seven Mile Bridge as you drive via Marathon and Big Pine Key on your way to Key West. On Key West, we recommend Boyd’s Key West Campground as it’s just five miles from the Keys’ southernmost tip and as it’s in an idyllic spot. Make sure you don’t miss the sunset from Mallory Pie and once it gets dark why not visit Captain Tony’s or Smokey Joe's, two of Hemingway’s favourite pubs.

Days 11 - 12: Pennekamp National Park
Distance: 100 miles
Suggested Campsite: Pennekamp Park

This morning you’ll need to head back north and on to the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park which was established in 1963 and was the first undersea park created in the United States. The park, combined with the adjacent Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, encompasses 178 nautical square miles of coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangrove swamps.

Days 13 - 14: Everglades National Park
Distance: 75 miles
Suggested Campsite: Flamingo Campground

Today you’ll head to the Everglades National Park. Start with an airboat tour which is a great way to experience this unique subtropical ecosystem. Glide across the grassy water while looking for wildlife like alligators, fish, turtles and wading birds in their natural habitat. We recommend staying at the Flamingo Campground but suggest that you pre-book it well in advance using the National Park Service website where you can also learn so much about this amazing environment.

Days 15 - 16: Sanibel
Distance: 230 miles
Suggested Campsite: Periwinkle Park

Take the Route 41 through the Everglades and Big Cyprus National Reserve on your way to Sanibel. We suggest a stay at the Periwinkle Park & Campground which is a bird lover's delight, offering the opportunity to see many species of exotic and native birds including toucans, macaws and lemurs.

Days 17 - 18: Fort Desoto
Distance: 145 miles
Suggested Campsite: Fort Desoto Park

Back to the mainland and we suggest taking the Interstates 75/275 bound for Fort DeSoto Country Park - its 1,136 acres are made up of five interconnected islands where you can find many campsites directly on the water's edge. There are two piers that you can fish from, you can rent boats and bikes or, as Fort Desoto has won America’s Best Beach award, why not just stay on the beach and enjoy everything that it has to offer.

Days 19 - 20: Orlando
Distance: 100 miles

Make the short journey back to Orlando to return your RV before transferring to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK.
