The Caravan Club Motor Caravan Design and Drive Awards 2007

Today, The Caravan Club announced the eagerly awaited results of this year’s Motor Caravan Design and Drive Competition at a lunchtime awards ceremony at The Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge, London.

The victorious vehicle in the 2007 competition was the Elddis Autoquest 115.  Judges’ comments about the vehicle included: “every essential in a small package”; “quick, agile and easy to drive”; “fantastic value for money” and “lovely compact two berth lo-line”.

The Motor Caravan Design and Drive Competition judged five price classes followed by two A-Class categories and then an Overall Winner taken from the winners of the classes.

This year’s competition attracted forty one entries. All the vehicles were rigorously put through their paces at Newark Showground and the surrounding area – not only by the driving judges but by a team of design judges also. 

Design judges considered electrics, comfort, kitchen/washrooms, air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems, technical aspects and stowage. Driving judges assessed vehicles’ road behaviour, acceleration, stability, manoeuvrability, noise and comfort.
