Cycling opportunities in Amsterdam

31 October 2008

Cycling enthusiasts may wish to look ahead to next year, as National Cycling Day is to be held in Amsterdam.

The event coincides with National Windmill Day and sees many Dutch people taking to their bikes to join in the festivities.

Visitors from further afield are also invited, with the occasion scheduled for May 9th next year.

There are said to be "thousands of miles of cycle paths in the country", meaning that fans of the open-air are not likely to be let down.

Cycling is popular in Holland, with many opting to give it a go when National Cycling Day comes along.

With European Caravan Sites available, cyclists should be looking into booking their trip.

Looking to the coming months, the Netherlands invites the world to its New Year's Eve celebrations, with events being held up and down the country.

Amsterdam is particularly lively, with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the sky at midnight.
