As caravans continue to become heavier the B+E test is becoming more and more relevant to caravanners. Many people wishing to tow a combined weight of more than 3,500kg will have to ensure they have passed this test before setting out.
If you are towing an average sized caravan with an average sized car it is likely that you will not exceed this limit, however, with 4 x 4s and other larger vehicles weighing nearly 3,000kg themselves, it is likely that many members will be affected.
The Club has compiled a list of companies who can offer this training to make this test easily available to our members. As well as this we have produced a leaflet that helps to explain Driving Licences and what towing limits are imposed.
You can also read an explanation of B+E requirements, driving licences and towing restrictions in an article published in our May 2007 Club magazine.
Finally, here's the story of one Club member's experience of getting his son through the B+E process.
