The Caravan Club, together with its partner organisations the National Caravan Council and the Camping and Caravanning Club, formed the Approved Workshops Scheme in 1998.
The Approved Workshops Scheme
By assessing workshops' facilities against a challenging set of criteria prior to granting approval, the scheme enables owners to find a reliable, competent workshop for their caravan or motor caravan.
Jones Vening Ltd
Assessment is carried out by specialist quality management company Jones Vening Limited. This company is also responsible for monitoring workshops' continued compliance with the scheme standards, and for investigating any complaints which might arise.
Service Standards
Workshops can be refused entry to the scheme on grounds such as failure to have appropriate facilities or procedures. Workshops whose service falls below the standards that are required can be removed from the scheme, if they do not demonstrate a clear willingness to improve.
Workshops in the UK
The scheme currently has 185 member workshops (Opens in a new window), distributed all around the UK. The majority of these workshops will service and repair caravans. Most of them will also service and repair at least the habitation part of motor caravans. A small but growing number are specialist motor caravan service and repair agents.
Approved Workshops are available for any caravanner to use, whether or not you are a Caravan Club member.
