The 2008 Lightweight Leisure Trailer Awards saw 26 entries over the four classes, with the awards themselves being held, as usual, at the National Boat, Caravan and Outdoor Show at the NEC in February.
The awards were split into four classes with a number of entries in each. The classes were as follows:
- Trailer Tents under £3,100
- Trailer Tents over £3,100
- Folding Campers
- Conventional Caravans
Judges and technical experts assessed everything from weights and measures to thermal insulation grade and recommended tyre pressures. Further scrutiny awarded merit for build quality, ease of construction and pull down, together with sleeping and living accommodation.
