Toyota Alphard, 4 Berth, (2008)

Reluctantly selling our wonderful camper Jean Luc: Our very smart black, 2.4 petrol, automatic, 2008 ULEZ compliant Toyota Alphard. Complete with a professional rear campervan conversion (Northstar Conversions), pop top roof bed and solar panel, this super camper and second car wants for nothing. Seatbelts for 5, sleeping for 4 (or 6+ including the awning).  . .   Jean Luc has a sink, hob, tap, large top loading fridge, 240v hook up and cable, leisure battery, solar panel, 12v usb sockets, awning rail, reversing camera, touchscreen pioneer stereo (plays music and maps from your phone etc), soft closing power doors, electric windows, led lights, cab air con, passenger & driver airbags, tinted privacy windows, rain guards… the list goes on.   .   . The interior is a gorgeous cream part leather, so to preserve this we have got some very well made seat covers for the back seats (with a child and a dog, we daren’t risk it!). As these are specific to a Toyota Alphard, they will be included in the sale.   . .   Also included - if you wanted! - is our quick erect drive away Khyam awning (less than a year old and literally takes 5 minutes to put up! This comes with a separate groundsheet and 2 berth bedroom), thermal blinds, fuel lagoon screen cover, as well as our duvalay mattress topper for extra comfort… basically everything someone could want to get them started. If you wanted the crockery, kettle, toilet etc, they can be yours too :)   . .   ”Bad” parts: There is a slight scrape at the rear, this is pictured and does not affect use - to be honest we don’t even notice it. Like most Alphards, the speedo is in kms, this can be easily converted by Northstar in Cowes (who are extremely knowledgeable about Alphards and who we used for the latest service etc). We have never felt the need to get this changed as we use a USB digital speedo which sits on the dash. We are of course happy to include the USB speedo in the sale or put you in touch with Carol at Northstar if you wanted this done. Honestly, we are struggling to find anything bad about Jean Luc… the most amazing camper ever. We really have ummed and ahhed if selling is the right decision, but we have now seen what we would like as the “next step up” in a mini motorhome and so here we are, selling our pride and joy!    . .   We have loved Jean Luc like a family member. It’s recently had a full service, rear axle bushes changed and new anti-roll linkage bar for peace of mind (was an advisory on MOT). We have been told these are the only bits of work that tend to need to be done on a Toyota Alphard; they are renown for being reliable, luxury cars. The solar panel and pop top roof are still within warranty and the whole camper is so well looked after, it really wouldn’t be out of place in a showroom! We’ve been told the van is in great condition and you are welcome to bring a mechanic etc for an inspection.   . .   As we had a top quality solar panel fitted, we are able to use the lights, fridge, stove, 12v power and live off grid for several days at a time. The battery also charges when you drive, meaning there is very little need to ever have electric hook up - however, all leads etc are included for hook up too :) The luxury of sitting in the back, with the roof up and windows down, having a cold drink and some fresh food after a day on the beach - without even leaving the beach’s car park - is second to none! Let alone the freedom you get from staying overnight somewhere!    . .   As you can probably tell from our ad, it’s not been an easy decision to sell, but we ideally need something bigger as we are using it far more than we anticipated and as our family continues to grow, it seems like the right time to buy the next step up (a mini motorhome). We have proven we use Jean Luc enough to warrant the extra money on the next step up, which we couldn’t have known or justified if it wasn’t for our amazing Jean Luc!  .   This has been an incredible starter camper for us - it is such a comfortable and smooth drive in comparison to more traditional vans (trust us, we tried them!); it is a converted luxury car with all the mod cons. It fits into an average parking space and also gets on the ferries etc as a car - so it really is the best of both worlds!  . . . Jean Luc has been used as our second car as well as a camper and we often fight over who gets to drive Jean Luc or the car - Jean Luc feels like such a luxury! Jean Luc has changed the way we spend our spare time as a family: even on the wettest, most miserable days, we go out in it, park up at a beauty spot overlooking the sea, drink tea and play board games etc. We’ve made some amazing memories as a family with overnight trips and holidays in Jean Luc and quite honestly we will miss this little camper so much.    . .   Jean Luc is now ready for a summer of fun and to make memories that will last a lifetime with his new owners :) we have no doubts that the first serious viewer will buy and we’d be happy to show you everything we know! We are in no huge rush to sell and will continue using Jean Luc for adventures until then, however, as we have found something we would like to buy,  we will consider sensible offers and he would be available immediately :)  .   Thanks for looking - any questions, please do ask!
