Complementing the house superbly is the Country Park itself, boasting a 17th century orangery, gardens, woodland and adventure playground open throughout the year. The 7-acre caravan site boasts an exquisite ornamental lake and offers 79 generously sized pitches. Take the opportunity to visit Tredegar House as it has often been described as one of the architectural wonders of Wales, and recognised as one of the most significant 17th century houses in the whole of the British Isles. The house is open between Easter and September.

A favourite of visitors is a visit the small village of Ystradfellte, and taking the 5 mile walk to the four waterfalls in the Brecon Beacons - well worth the effort to witness the stunning waterfalls. Within convenient distance of Tredegar House Country Park Caravan Club Site is the beautiful city of Cardiff, with its medieval castle, National Museum, Bay Development and vast shopping centre. Close to the caravan park, you can visit the restored Transporter Bridge, Pwll Mawr (Big Pit mining museum) and the lovely Wye Valley. The bus stop is about a 25 minute walk from site and the service is frequent and good value, allowing you to conveniently explore the local area without the need for a car.

Our first site in Wales

4 out of 5

Two retired campers and a dog, we arrived from the south coast in our motorhome after an easy drive. The facilities were beautiful clean and the space where could exercise our Labradoodle was extensive and safe. We visited Cardiff using public transport, an easy trip (once we'd found the bus stop). Ask directions, ignore Google Maps ! Staff were friendly and helpful answering the sort of question that they must have heard many times with humour and care.

good holiday

We booked at tredegar house for six nights with our motorhome and ended up staying another five nights, the camp site site was clean through out and well looked after. We cannot thank the wardens enough Debbie and Gerry Wallbank and also Gail and Alan Stanley, they gave us a warm and friendly welcome and helped when we asked. the entrance to the site was magificent with the array of hanging baskets  and flowers all around, the grounds of the house ideal for people with dogs lots of walks, also the lakes with all the ducks fish heron and more. I would recommend this site to anyone and enjoy the stay. One downfall the area has especially for the site people is lack of shops on the site for food, even though there is a small shop that sells some food and a fish shop nearby and a cafe and also traffic noise, but these are minor.  We would surely visit this site again, and of course i need to say the local pub about 400 yards away 'The Dragonfly' do meals and a 10% discount for club members if you show your card, good saving on a family meal there. And once again a big thankyou to the Wardens.

Not Happy to say the Least ?

We have stayed at Tredegar House before every time we put a Awning up we have major issues regarding putting pegs in this is not acceptable paying top money and having to bend pegs because this is a Concrete Slab with a few chippings on top not your normal hardstanding now looking for a Commercial Site when we need to be in this area Many Thank's Kevin Pengelly
