Very Spacious CL near Kingsbridge

Beechcroft
Extremely spacious pitches. You have a choice, if available, of a pitch against a hedge at the Eastern side of the CL, with a 6' hedge between your pitch and those next door, or a pitch looking towards Dartmoor from the more open aspect. Either way the pitches are large and you can pitch any which way you want. They are all on grass but it is cut very short and extremely well kept. Please use breathable ground sheet if putting an awning up as it's a shame to spoil such scenery. Electric bollards tend to be double and there are 2 water points. The Elsan is similar to those found on CAMC sites, the cone shaped aluminium sided ones. Waste water is by the Elsan. Various waste bins are provided near the Elsan point. The site is quite high up so will catch some wind if it's about. The main down side to the CL is the road that runs right by it. It is very busy during the day being a main road between Totnes/Kingsbridge and Plymouth. It does however fall silent at night for sleeping. We've had worse. Site is handy for local places of interest, such as Salcombe and Bantham Bay and Bigbury. The owners are friendly and accessible. The entrance ( and exit) should be treated with care, see the owners directions in the S.D. There is a Tesco and Morrisons amongst others in Kingsbridge, a 10 minute car drive away and bus services run past the site to the major centres. The owner has made a pathway that will keep you off the road to get to the local village in Churchstow where there is reputed to be an excellent pub/restaurant and also a small shop. All in all we would probably stay there again. Please note that this CL is Adults only and has a No Dog policy.

A warm welcome, beautifully kept flat good sized pitches, splendid views and a wide variety of coastal beauty spots. Good walks from the site.

Visited 18 July for eight nights. Owners could not have been more friendly and welcoming. So much to see and do in the area and a pub just 5mins walk away. Ideal spot to explore from and easy access. Highly recommended. Roger

Excellent well kept site

Beechcroft
Visited in August. Fabulous lawned site, fantastic views, emus, rabbit, ducks and geese to look at on site as well. Can be a bit breezy as top of a hill, but the view is fantastic. Toilet is in owners garden and is clean. Good recycling and accessible waste disposal point. Fresh water taps close by to pitches.

Lovely site, fantastic welcome.

Beechcroft
We have just enjoyed 12 nights at this outstanding and very well run site. The welcome from Carol on arrival was warm and friendly after a 300 mile+ drive, just what we needed!. The pitches are very generous in size, level with 2 fresh water taps a not too big 'pull' away. Chemical point is at the top of the field mostly over grass. If you are lucky enough to get a pitch at the bottom between the conifer hedges grey water can go into the hedge. (One job less!) There is loads to do, Salcombe is lovely with a great park and ride, (don't even try to find an alternative). After that Dartmouth with its vehicle ferry river crossings, Brixham and Plymouth are easy journeys for day trips. Totnes is a lovely town with a lively market (check days). If you dont fancy driving that far try the local bays and beaches, awesome scenery. Bigbury on sea is not to be missed. I could go on but enough said, just go and find out for yourselves.
