Why stay here ...

A tranquil and beautiful site located in the heart of the beautiful Fens, on the outskirts of the small village of Surfleet and just a few miles from the traditional market town of Spalding. We live on site and are surrounded by grazing paddocks which are used to indulge our passion for horses. If you are looking for somewhere to completely relax, unwind and enjoy the peaceful countryside at its best, then this is the place for you. We are a haven for wildlife with footpaths accessible directly from the site, offering endless options for walks locally.

With 5 very spacious grass pitches at the end of paddocks bordering the riverbank of the picturesque River Glen and surrounded by mature hedging providing sheltered, private, secure and extremely quiet pitching. Pitches are close mown surrounded by natural long meadow grass with ample room for each pitch to take a large awning. The communal service points are situated within easy access close by.

Fishing (via permit in season) is available directly from our riverbank and could not be a more tranquil spot. You may launch your own dingy/kayak and take a leisurely paddle along the river. If golf is more your thing, we have a superb course in Surfleet open to non-members. We welcome dogs who will love the space and the walks available from the site, but we ask for them to be kept on a lead at all times due to our resident horses in bordering fields.

We are blessed with some great pubs offering fantastic food within walking distance: The Ship Inn (Pinchbeck), The Mermaid (Surfleet), The Crown (Surfleet) and The Ship (Surfleet Seas End). With a fish and chip shop in our own village and within our neighbouring village of Pinchbeck there's an award winning butchers (Hargraves) and Chinese & pizza takeaways.

The area has much to offer with interesting, historical and beautiful places to visit such as:

  • Ayscoughfee Museum & Gardens (5 miles) - Grade 1 listed mediaeval house set in 5 acres of beautiful grounds
  • Moulton Windmill (8 miles) - highest windmill in England
  • Burtey Fen Collection (2.5 miles) - privately owned music hall
  • Pinchbeck Engine (4 miles) - fascinating insight into local land drainage
  • Springfields Outlet Centre & Gardens (5 miles)
  • Crowland Abbey (14 miles) - ruins dating back to 11th Century
  • Grimsthorpe Castle Park & Gardens (16 miles)
  • Burghley House (26 miles)

Further afield, there are many stunning Lincolnshire towns and villages including Bourne (15 miles), Stamford (25 miles) and historical capital city of Lincoln (40 miles) which can be reached by train from Spalding. Alternatively, you can simply relax and enjoy the peace and quiet!

We are exicted to welcome our first Club members. We hope you will join us to find out for yourselves all that our tranquil site has to offer you. Advanced booking is required. For further information please call or email and we'll be happy to answer any of your questions.

Great for a relaxing break

Ideally located by the banks of the River Glen and close to both Surfleet and Pinchbeck, both of which are easily reached by bike or by car. Lovely hosts. Horses are friendly too. Nice level site. Very peaceful. What's not to like? Highly recommended.

Just had a wonderful week away from it all at The Burrells CL site. What a little gem set in a secluded paddock right next to the lovely River Glen. Lots of walks accessible from the site which our dogs loved including to a super pub (The Ship - Pinchbeck) which has some great outdoor space. Site owners were very friendly and helpful. Fantastic butchers (Hargraves) in the next village of Pinchbeck and we sampled some cracking stuff on our cadac - their Lincolnshire sausages were gorgeous. The best thing was the peace. No noise other than from the wildlife and amazing star gazing skies at night as no light pollution to speak of. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to go back!
