Fully serviced, hardstanding,WiFi & Peaceful

Parkers Patch
Not sure what "Disapointing" review was expecting but fully serviced with free WiFi and hardstanding for £15 a night very peaceful, easy access to Much Wenlock with many Pubs and eating places and I have paid over £20 a night for much inferior CL's. I find sites that offer water connection but no drain connection no big advantage so I allways loff for sites that have both connections. We spent 4 nights on the site in a windy May to explore a bit of Shrewsbury, the Roman Vineyard tour and Ludlow. Really enjoyed the area and will probably visit again. OK the toilet emptying could be improved but I try not to spend too much time in that area. I wish all sites had the same facilities as most Caravan Club sites do not have the same access to water & drain access for much higher fees. The young lady that runs the site is very charming nothing too much trouble.

Disappointing

Parkers Patch
Been looking forward to revisiting this part of the country but the last part of the journey towards Hughley certainly isn’t for the faint hearted. Very narrow roads and once committed you just hope that there isn’t a tractor, lorry or speeding car coming the other way as very few passing places. Having reached the CL the first impressions are disappointing. Rusty sign and my little dog was nearly lost the grass was so long. Hardstanding pitches of sorts but very uneven, large stones and so many weeds. Local road is a rat run and cars speeding past are unnerving plus dogs were constantly barking in the distance all day every day, almost as though there were some local kennels? Everything just looked unloved. The Elsan(??) isn’t great either, no cover and the hose pipe supplied is barely a trickle. Granted the price is reasonable and you have water plus grey waste at each pitch but the drainage of the grey waste is soooo slow as it’s above land so wrong angle therefore back drain when having a shower! It could be so much better but it’s like they’ve lost interest. Nonetheless the lady owner was very friendly. Shame but not one we’d return to.

Lovely Site, very Quiet & Peaceful

Parkers Patch
Just spent two night here, its a lovely site, all pitches are hardstanding and are fully serviced, there was even wifi which was a great help as my phone didn't get very good signal at all. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, they gave some really good recommendations of things to see and nice places to eat, We would definitely recommend this site, especially if you want to relax and get some peace and quiet, all you can hear is the birds singing, the odd horse whinnying and the odd car passing by, you feel in the middle of nowhere but your only about 20-25 mins away from large towns and places of interest. We will definitely be back.

Quite and peaceful

Parkers Patch
Just returned from a 7 night stay at this quiet and peaceful location with easy access to many places of interest and good walks. The pitches are a good size and fully serviced including a good free wifi which was useful as mobile reception is not great. The owner Chia was always available but did not impose herself on you. We will definitely be returning to this site

Quiet site with hardstanding

Parkers Patch
I struggled to find this site, 1 due to satnav error and 1 due to lack of camc sign on the gate (3 point turn with caravan in a country lane is not fun 😲). Once here, individual serviced pitches, hard standing with grass, and chemical and waste disposal in the corner of the field. I was the only one, so spread myself out 👍😁. No real 'dog walk' that I could find other than walking along the road into the tiny nice village (nice church, no pub or village shop), but i did not explore further due to ankle injury. Road is quiet and popular with cyclists and horse riders. Owner was very friendly and checked in to make sure I was ok and if there was anything I needed. I'm surprised this site is not more popular considering the number of commercial sites in the village.
