CL of the Year Award 2023 - Best Newcomer

Award winning Betley Park has stunning views across the Shropshire hills, and is located just a short walk from Lyth Hill Country Park.

The site is run by the Guy & Jo who organise the hugely popular campervan and motorhome event 'Vanlove Fest'. The CL benefits from electric hookups, fresh water point, free Wi-Fi, Elsan waste point and many hidden gems including Betley Hideaway, a turn of the 20th century pigsty that's been converted to an outdoor bar and BBQ area. We also offer E-Bike hire thanks to our partnership with MiRider.

Despite feeling miles from anywhere we're only 10 minutes from the centre of Shrewsbury and perfectly located as a stopover if you're heading on a Welsh adventure, with the Welsh coast just a 90 minute drive away.

We welcome dogs so long as they're well behaved and this is an Adult Only site.

Transport links are fantastic being close to the A49 and A5 and a bus service runs from outside the site. We also offer guided walks with our host, Jo Fallows, a trained Wellness Expert, who will take you on the most amazing walks in the local area.

More details can be found on our website. Once loged in, please click on the green 'Website' Button wiich will take you through to our page were you can also make a booking.

Beautiful site

Betley Park
We had a lovely 3 night stay on this delightful CL. No faults to find. Magnificent views, friendly owner, basic facilities, but very nicely done. The hideaway is very special and I can imagine it’s a great place to spend time in nice weather. Excellent access for Shrewsbury and all nearby attractions. Our 2 dogs loved it too! Would love to return.

Where were the Hosts :-)

Betley Park
We booked for a three-night stay from Monday the 4th of March, When we arrived we were the only ones there for the whole duration and we never saw the hosts the whole time we were there. I emailed Jo and Guy to say we'd arrived and pitched up and they replied 'Welcome we'll pop and see you tomorrow when the weather is a little more settled. I found this a little strange and when I hadn't seen anyone at all for the whole time we were there, I thought for a second we'd come to the wrong place. Anyway, the site is nice, the approach is a little tight and very bumpy so be careful when entering from the road. the views are fantastic and the site is peaceful. We were just Disappointed that the hosts never bothered to greet us even though they said they would,

Wow wow wow, a true gem of a place.

Betley Park
There aren't any words that can describe this CL that do it justice. Views are breathtaking, and the pitches are level and positioned to make the most of the views. The hideaway is a little gem and we will be back when it's a bit warmer to take full advantage. We took the stroll downhill and caught the bus into Shrewsbury where we enjoyed a few hours exploring and caught a taxi back to the site all adding to our amazing short break. We didn't meet Jo but Guy was extremely helpful and friendly especially when we got stuck on the grass. Overall we were so impressed that we have booked to go to the Van love fest in July and will be back throughout the year to experience this CL through the seasons.

Brilliant, chilled site

Betley Park
What a wonderful little site. Guy and Jo are both very welcoming and would stay and chat all day long! We can't forget Willow, their lovely, friendly Shiatsu who is also very sociable and quickly made herself at home in our caravan! She is a real little character. We would definitely recommend this site for either a short stopover or longer. We stayed for a week and there were so many nice walks around the site. The views from the site are amazing and Guy and Jo have lots of recommendations for walks, places to eat and things to do. Just a short bus ride to Shrewsbury on the Park and Ride which is a beautiful town. The "hideaway" is a lovely touch which I am sure will be well used when the weather is good. Can't wait to come back and explore a bit more. Would thoroughly recommend. Thanks Guy and Jo for a lovely week and making us feel so welcome.

Total relaxation with fantastic views.

Betley Park
We stayed at Betley Park from the 8th to the 10th of September on a blistering hot weekend of weather. Guy and Jo who own the site are lovely, friendly people and took time out for a chat. The site is amazing with great views overlooking The Wrekin and Long Mynd and the bbq and bar area are a nice touch. A short walk from the site is Lyth Hill, which is well worth a visit. We had a very chilled weekend and will definitely be back. Mark & Melloney Roberts.
