Why stay here ...

In the heart of rural Somerset, Dene Hollow is a peaceful, tranquil site that is ideally located for day trips and walking. Whether you are planning to roam around the neighbouring villages or drive for days out, our site’s location is fantastic for a wide range of guests, offering a variety of locations and activities just a short distance away from the campsite itself.

The campsite is situated at the foot of The Knoll, making it a perfect spot for lovely country walks, and as we love dogs ourselves the site is dog-friendly. The delightful Ralph’s Wood is just a 5 minute walk away, and just like our campsite also welcomes dogs.

Our campsite is found within the village of East Brent, a charming village that every August hosts the famous Harvest Home festival, and happens to be the home of the very first one of these in Somerset.

Close by within a 15-minute drive you will find the 2 lovely seaside towns Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-On-Sea, with the option for the traditional market town of Taunton also only a 25 minute drive away. In addition to this, found a similar distance away is the famous Cheddar Gorge, which offers spectacular walks as well as access to the caves.

For those interested in fishing also, just a 10 minute drive away is Shiplake fishery which offers day passes, making it ideal for those camping locally (See a photo of the lake in our pictures). Whether you are planning to roam around the neighbouring villages or drive for days out, our site’s location is fantastic for a wide range of guests, offering a variety of locations and activities just a short distance away from the campsite itself.

Lovely CL

Dene Hollow
We stayed here for three nights over the Easter weekend and had a lovely time. Whilst it was too wet for us to venture onto the field, we parked on the hard standing by the entrance. It’s lovely and quiet with great walks from the site. The toilet was lovely and clean and the owners very friendly and welcoming. We look forward to coming back when the weather has settled. Thank you

Relaxing stay

Dene Hollow
Relaxing Stay, arrived for a two night stay on a wet and windy day, unable to park on the field due to water logged site, but was able to park on the newly built entrance. Easy access to drinking water and an excellently maintained WC. Would recommend for a lovely short stay. Very good value for £7 a night Thanks Pete

Lovely Overnight Stop

Dene Hollow
Great find. Just off the M5. We had travelled from the North East and were ready for the break in our journey. Host is very welcoming and we would like to thank her for her warm welcome. Peaceful and tranquil spot. We had a walk into the village and to the local church. We walked up the hill to Ralphs wood. However very wet, so just had a quick look. Would defiantly recommend this site. we would use it again when travelling south. Many Thanks Ian & Joy

Peace and quiet in abundance

Dene Hollow
Stayed here for 2 nights on our way back from Devon. Lots of room in the field, and a great adjoining hedge if you want to go blackberrying. Although not far from the M5, we could not hear the traffic - just the chimes of the local church clock. The horse and donkey are lovely to watch, and the geese have a bit of a showdown now and again, but all the animals are kept off the site by a good fence. The toilet is very charming, not quite what I expected in a breeze block lean-to, very clean, well-stocked and even had potted plants. We cycled to nearby Burnham, and there is a SusTrans cycle route along the beach from Burnham to Brean Down. Everything that can be expected on a farm site, and at the excellent rate of £6 per night.

Have just returned from 3 nights at Dene Hollow in our motorhome. What an absolutely idyllic site, so quiet and well maintained. The horses and donkey are just gorgeous and the geese fascinating. We can find nothing negative to say about this site and the friendly welcome received, all for £6 per night, is just a bargain. Will definitely return! Phil & Sue Neate Motorhome.
