Oh but those darned grass cuttings!!

Bucks Farm CL
Don't get me wrong, we love this heaven sent place, apart from the darned rooks at nesting time when they can totally ruin the peace and tranquility of planet earth!! Don't get me wrong, we love this heaven sent place, however we just wish the grass was cut more often and the cuttings were mulched away to a far greater extent as it is no fun iwht 4 & 5 inch long grass cuttings clogging up the entire interior of your awning and van!! Don't get me wrong, we love this heaven sent place and we will be returning time after time again depite the darned rooks and grass cutting!

Total peace and quiet apart from the darned rookery opposite!

Bucks Farm CL
Luke & Nic make exceptionally welcoming hosts. We loved our 7 nights at Bucks Farm and wished we could have stopped for longer. The walking from the site is first class with excellent footpaths and bridle ways going off in all directions. The local small town of Halesworth has a well stocked CO-OP and a marvelous high street. Our visit was in mid May which we very much enjoyed and we will return, however it will be away from the breeding season of the rooks located in the rookery who were really quite vocal.

Peaceful CL

Bucks Farm CL
Back from a week on this spacious CL which is very well kept. A very warm welcome from the owners and we found it a central position for our first visit to Suffolk. Highlight of the week for us was a trip to Sutton Hoo but also enjoyed Southwold and Framlingham. After a busy day out it was lovely to come back to the peace of this site. Thank you Luke & Nic.

Wonderful Week

Bucks Farm CL
It isn't often that I find a CL deserves 5☆ but I think this one does. We spent a week here and loved it, mind you the lovely weather helped. 🙂The CL is easy to find if you follow the directions on the website, with only the last half mile or so single track with passing places. Access to the CL is through a wide gate and the gate code was provided when we booked. The field is large but it does slope so levelling blocks are required. The pitches are along the top and down one side of the site to make the most of the sun almost all day. The owner Luke pops down to check all ok and will point out local walks of which there are quite a few of varying lengths directly from the site. All facilities are very good and located by the gate. Halesworth is a couple of miles away and well worth a visit, there is a co-op, with fuel, but the best shops are along the pedestrian thoroughfare, especially the bakery, I can recommend the Cheese and Onion Foccacia. 😉Car parking is free for the first hour too. We also used the White Hart pub which is dog friendly. We also had a meal at the Huntingfield Arms in Huntingfield which Luke recommended, and it was very good. The coast is approximately 10 miles and we visited Dunwich, Southwold, Walberswick all are lovely. I can also recommend a visit to The Suffolk Punch centre, a bit further away. We thought all the places we visited had good Covid precautions in place. This is a lovely CL and one will will definitely use again.

Silence is Golden

Bucks Farm CL
I feel this cl needs a new review after 2 years since the last. Being beach Boys fans in our hay day prompted the title. A very quiet cl as it is quite remote and is adult only also without light pollution, it is very dark. Unfortunately we had to endure a full moon at the time of our visit. A very large field of close mown meadow grass with pitches of about 20 metres apart. The field slopes steeply at the top end where two pitches face down the slope (see site Photos) the other three being at right angles and follow the line of the wooden fence to a more level part of the site near the bottom opposite the entry gate. These pitches would be easiest to level the van from side to side. The site is easy to find, just follow the directions in the book. The final ½ mile is narrow but with good forward vision and plenty of passing places. Entry to Bucks Farm is the second entrance to the cl not the first. There is a padlocked entry gate which uses a combination lock. Make sure you are given the security code, we weren’t but a quick phone call sorted that. There are several public footpaths from the site which would be good for shorter walks and also for dog owners if free from live stock. One of the things we liked the most is the location. It is very central to Suffolk whether it be coast or the broads, nowhere was too far. Halesworth is well worth exploring. It has everything you need, Co-op for food and fuel but best for groceries where the independent small shops which still seem to thrive in the town. There are three pubs and several coffee shops too. All in all a site that we would almost certainly be happy to use again only next time it will be for longer
