Why stay here ...

We are a friendly family run small holding with 17 lovely alpacas, chickens, running ducks, family dog and cat, all waiting to meet you. Our CL is flat on half an acre with three hard standing pitches and two grass pitches, all with electric hookups. We have opened the CL as a legacy to my parents who caravan with the Middlesex group for over 50 years. Caravanning was a very big part for me growing up playing on fields etc.. with my brothers. We have seasonal produce to buy as well as our fresh free range eggs.

Superb

Darsham Cottage
Only a few words needed to review this CL, stayed 5 nights April 2024. Beautiful lush, carpet like green grass, level weedless graveled hardstandings, all 'facilities' tidily located in one corner....I fail to understand while all CL's cannot be this good. Excellent location for all things Suffolk Coast, easily accessed direct from A12, which although at sometimes busy was not noisy or obtrusive....

Great find!

Darsham Cottage
Very easy to find & in a great location with easy access to lots to see & do. Very well kept camping area, we were lucky & had the whole site to ourselves for our stay but there’s plenty of room for 5 vans with awnings. Alpacas, with their gorgeous little faces live in the adjacent field. Recycling, bins, water & toilet emptying neatly in one corner. It’s quite close to the main road but it didn’t cause a problem for us at all, hence I’ve still given 5 stars for peace & tranquility. Will definitely book again if we visit the area.

Lovely stay

Darsham Cottage
We have just returned today from 3 nights at Darsham Cottage. It’s a really lovely site, a very warm welcome and choice of pitches. Julie very kindly introduced us to her Alpacas and gorgeous dog. The only reason we dropped a star on the peace and tranquility is that for some people the small road noise from the A12 might bother them. It is not intrusive at all and didn’t worry us in the slightest. We had no problem leaving the site due to traffic and this was a busy weekend at the coast due to the weather. The trains are barely heard and we quite like hearing them anyway. We didn’t go far as our elderly dog likes to stay at base now and for a relaxing weekend it was perfect for us. Emmerdale farm shop is well worth a trip. Two Magpies bakery just up the road is nice but very over priced, I struck lucky and got a sourdough loaf half price as they had burnt it all that day!! The farm shop cakes looked much nicer in our opinion. Do try Darsham Cottage, I’m sure you wouldn’t regret it.

Good CL

Darsham Cottage
Spent 11 nights here in August, really nice well kept CL with helpful owners. The only issue we had was the daytime traffic on the A12 during the school holidays, which at times made driving off the site something of a challenge. We found it useful to plan to depart at about 10 to the hour or on the hour when the nearby level crossing is closed to allow trains through, thus halting northbound traffic for a glorious few minutes! That said, there is minimal traffic noise at night and the trains don’t run through the night, so it’s decently quiet. We found the food in the Kings Arms In Yoxford better than the Fox. There is a bus service passing the site every three hours going to Halesworth and Aldeburgh, necessary to hail the bus on the minor road into Darsham village.

Convenient for local places of interest.

Darsham Cottage
We liked this site because it was peaceful (albeit with some traffic noise from the A12) and very close to a number of places of interest including Dunwich Beach; for best Fish and Chips around! We also visited Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings. There are two excellent Farm shops and an Artisan Baker and Patisserie just up the road. Julie and John couldn’t have been more helpful. Would definitely go again!
