Longleat Club Campsite in Warminster is one of the network's most unique locations - where else in the UK or Europe can you hear lions roaring at night from the comfort of your bed? Set in beautiful parkland, the campsite is located in the midst of the lovely Longleat Estate. The area's famous Safari Park, first to be opened outside Africa, is literally on the doorstep of the Longleat Club Campsite. It's just a 5 minute walk directly from the site to Longleat House and Longleat Safari Park if you prefer not to take your vehicle, and you can buy tickets at Longleat's back gate or buy in advance online at Longleat.

There are several pubs within a 2 mile radius (a lovely walk on a summers evening) and a short drive will bring you to the lively towns of Bath and Bristol. The Roman, Regency and 20th century Bath being a special favourite for visitors touring in Wiltshire. Still famous as a spa, you can take to the waters and literally soak yourself in history. With winding streets and pretty listed buildings, Frome is about 15 minutes from the site. Several fascinating nearby sites of historic interest include Stonehenge, Avebury Neolithic monument and Lacock Abbey.

Please note that Longleat are not able to accept dogs within the grounds or attractions. There are other beautiful walks also available from the Club side of the road that members can enjoy freely and at their own leisure.

Directions

Follow sat nav to The White Hart pub (postcode BA12 7PH) then follow the brown tourist signs to the site. Alternatively, turn left off the A36 Warminster bypass (Salisbury - Frome) at the roundabout onto the A362 (signposted Frome). In about 0.5 mile at the roundabout take the A362 (third exit) to Frome. After 2.25 miles turn into Lane End next to the White Hart pub. Continue past the Safari Park Entrance and Stalls Farm before turning left again. The site entrance is 200 metres on left. This is the only permitted entry route for caravans and motorhomes. Please note that estate routes may change in the case of a special event. Note: When using sat nav for directions to the site, please use the postcode BA12 7PH ( pub at Lane End on the A362), and follow the brown direction signs to site. If coming from the Warminster direction on the A362 please do not attempt to take the first left after the Royal Oak pub as this lane is far too narrow.

Wonderful campsite

Longleat Club Campsite
First time at Longleat... what a wonderful place. Huge well maintained hardstandings in a peaceful tree covered environment. Facilities usual high club standards.. spotlessly clean. Staffed by a very friendly and helpful team. We were there over a bank holiday when site was full but you wouldn't know it as it is so well spaced out. Greek street food van on a Friday evening looked great but we did not eat there as we already had plans. Would we return... definitely.

Excellent stay

Another fantastic stay. Stayed for 3 nights and visited the safari park. Amazing to hear the sealions, wolves and Lions from our pitch. We had a very peaceful stay. The facilities are always very clean and the staff were friendly

Fantastic Long Weekend

Longleat Club Campsite
Stayed for 3 nights but would have loved to stayed longer. Amazing hearing the wild animals from the Safari Park right next door. We had a very relaxing, chilled and peaceful time, and have already recommended to anyone who is willing to listen. Enjoyed the fish and chips on Saturday, from the mobile outlet in the carpark, very fresh, volcanically hot, and good value for money (cash needed though). A visit to Longleat Safari Park is well worth a visit, but make sure you plan in plenty of time - there is a lot to do and enjoy. Highly recommended. The site is well maintained, and the facilities were very clean. Staff on site were very friendly, super hardworking and helpful. The little office/shop sells all the essentials, in case you run out of something and is open for most of the day. Excited to plan another trip - fabulous and thank you,

Fantastic Wardens

Longleat Club Campsite
Firstly the wardens are fantastic. So friendly and helpful, nothing was too much for them. Can't rate them high enough. Secondly the Site was clean and tidy as expected but the standard high site fees with the standard facilities as normal. CAMC should review site fees and this awful 20% deposit requirement. You're pricing yourself out of the market and we only stay on your sites now if there isn't an alternative private site nearby.

Excellent location

Longleat Club Campsite
This is a part of the world that we visit quite often, but only the 2nd time we've stayed at the site (first time 20รท years ago!). Stayed for 4 days mid week and the site was nice and quite, not sure if it would be the same during the school holidays though! Staff were very friendly and helpful and are keeping the site spotless. The facilities are very clean and perfectly fine, though they are getting a little tired, though again to reiterate, spotless and perfectly usable. So not an issue really. The access to the wildlife park is great, we found a drive through first thing in the morning, shortly after opening, the back to the site for lunch and sort the dogs out. Followed by a walk round the rest during the afternoon. We found that one day was fine for us, but you might want two if you have kids in tow! Loads to do and see in the area, which would take forever to list here! Didn't try out any of the local eateries or pubs though. The free WiFi isn't the best, but it does the job, would prefer the better paid service, but not available (yet???), Overall a great stay and would definitely use again!
