Everything you could need

We stayed here for one night in anticipation of our Eurotunnel transfer to France. The site was easily accessible and had all necessary amenities. Site staff were welcoming and courteous. Would gladly return.

NOISE

Stayed from Tuesday to Friday, the first three nights we were woken at 2am by people loading vans with meat using a mechanical digger. The vans are on the CL just the other side of the hedge from the caravans around 20 metres away. Spoke to the CL owner who said she has never had a complaint before and we should feel free to change pitch to put ourselves further away from the loading, sadly this was not possible as there were already three caravans the other end off the site so no electric points available. On speaking to a couple of regulars on site they told me there had been numerous complaints since the owners started renting an area to the Meat company. This site is close to the main road so we expected some traffic noise but van loading at 2 am a few metres away is completely unacceptable. Its a shame because the CL itself has neatly trimmed grass and a regularly cleaned toilet/shower, also taps on each pitch BUT the broken sleep ruins the whole place. Would not stay here again and certainly would not recommend to others. (note, the picture on club website is also out of date as it shows a decent size field for pitching, a third of this has now been turned over to storage so view across site is now of a storage area rather than trees.)

Fabulous Site

We stayed here for one night on our way to France what a peaceful and pleasant site. It’s is ideal for catching the shuttle, however it is a lovely site if you want to tour the surrounding area. We received a warm welcome and setting up was easy. The pitches are spacious, the chemical waste was clean and easy accessible. For only £10 a night it is value for money. One minor point is one of the approach roads is narrow and if you meet a car coming the other way it’s a bit tricky, however judging by the size of caravans and motorhomes using the site it does not seem to be a problem. Well worth a visit.

Rude and offensive

The site itself is fine, level and tidy but we did think that the pitch we were shown to was small with a caravan in store very close by. We were there for an overnight stop on our way to the Ferry for France. We set the caravan up and were just settling down for a coffee when the owner came to us and accused us of emptying our toilet in the wrong place. We hadn't emptied our toilet as it was empty having just left home a few hours before. He claimed we were the only caravan there so it must have been us, however there was at least one other visitor there. I was incensed at this accusation, as you can imagine, as i was being accused of being dirty and also of being a liar. The discussion got a little heated and he said we knew where the gate was and he "didn't need our £10". My wife was very upset by all this as well because of this man's aggressive attitude, he would not listen to anything I had to say. I was guilty and that was that. We decided to move on and went to another CL closer to Dover which was very pleasant with friendly people. We had arrived at Capel Farm and then left inside an hour, the quickest visit we have ever made to a campsite. I have NEVER had this treatment and attitude at a campsite in 30 years of caravaning.

Great for an overnight stop before the Dover ferry, but not much else.

We stayed there for one night in April 2017, before catching the ferry from Dover, the following morning. Being a CL, facilities were very basic - a water tap and electric hook-up, only. Nothing else. The pitch was quite level, so we didn't need levelling blocks, which made our morning getaway easier. There were no village facilities anywhere nearby - there was a pub on the coast road, about a mile away, but nothing closer. We ate in the van. Motorhomers take note: there are no facilities on site, or nearby, except for the electricity and water already noted. The real upside to the location, was the 30 minute journey to the docks, for the ferry.

A Great Welcome to a Great Site

We stopped here twice as a stopover for the Dover ferry after a recommendation from friends who stay here often. Site owner very happy for us to stay for a single night on the way out and again on our return. Very welcoming on our arrival and accepted our bookings via email.   On both visits as soon as we arrived someone was there to greet us within moments of our arrival to suggest pitches and take payment. A refreshing change compared to the amount of CLs we have had to guess where to go and then search for someone to check in with and pay! The site is level and the grass well maintained which is great for quick setting up.  Both of the pitches we were on had their on drinking water taps so would be perfect for a direct hook up for a longer stay. The roads to the site are a little tight, either via single track lanes or a residential area with parked cars, both are easily manageable with a little care although the residential way is probably the easiest. Would definitely recommend this site for ferry crossing and also someone who is looking to explore the local area and stay a little longer, I'm sure we would if it was not so far from home. On our second visit we were treated to a spectacular firework display although I suspect this is not a regular occurrence and more due to a family wedding taking place.

Chapel Farm

Lots of space, lawned.  Awkward road in but OK if taken slow, try to avoid school times.  Road noise yes, but very good for ferries and tunnel and Kent attractions.

A great little site for trips to france and exploring the cinque ports

We have stayed here several times over the past few years and have always found it to be consistently good. The site is lawned and has plenty of water points. The electrical hook-ups are well spaced and the access easy. The is some road noise from the nearby A20 but not enough to be intrusive. Its about a 15 minute drive to Eurotunnel or Dover ferry port on good roads. We will be back for next years wine stock and to continue visiting nearby sites of historical interest. The owner is friendly and welcoming.
