It’s hard to add to the excellent comments that people have made but this site really does take your breath away! With family history in the area we travel to Cornwall every few years but this is the first time on this site and when we next come down this will be our first choice - but we better get our skates on in booking as this site gets booked up very quickly and understandably so!!
Not only are the hard-standing fully serviced pitches large but they all also have their own picnic table and flower bed! Each pitch is also locally named after local places; Land’s End, Porthcurno, Mousehole, Marazion, and St Ives which is a lovely touch. We were placed on St Ives Pitch which was so thoughtful from James as it was the end pitch next to the large open field area for our kids to play and dog to stroll. We had visitors too from our wider family staying in the area too and enjoyed using the football goal for a gentle kick about! This emphasises that this site is excellent for families too and we were surprised that we were the only family on site for most of our 16-night stay.
You feel on top of the world here looking down into Mount’s Bay, around to Marazion and St Hilary to the left and Penzance, Newlyn, and Mousehole to the right. So much to see staying on site both by day and night from cars, buses, helicopters, farm machinery, ships, boats, and trains, to the twinkling of streetlights, lights on the harbours, star-filled sky, and the moonlight reflecting gorgeously on the sea! That’s to say nothing of the local wildlife. Oh and St Michael’s Mount is sometimes lit up at night too. Feeling so free and away from everything yet you are only 5 minutes from pretty much any amenity, shops, beaches, pubs, etc. even the local NT property at Trengwainton is only about 10 minutes drive. A bit of a pain having to travel to the closest caravan accessories shop at Redruth for a replacement water pump as ours died during our stay but that’s nothing to do with the site! The only possible downside to this site is that, if the wind is blowing from the South then you can hear some of the noise from Penzance but I’m struggling to find a negative here. Apparently, the approach can cause difficulty but we found no problems with our Tourneo Custom and 8-foot wide twin axle van. James and Debbie have clearly spent a lot of time and thought and invested in this site and their friendliness and helpfulness were appreciated. We’ve arrived home wishing we were still there and feeling relaxed and recuperated. After 11 years of regularly staying on CLs this is definitely the best we’ve stayed on.
