stunning views

This site has the most beautiful view of St Michael's Mount and coastline. The host is a very friendly and helpful man (James Wallis). The hard standing pitches have EHU, waste point and water tap. There is a grey waste emptying spot along with an Elsan point. very clean. A watering can is provided, if you want to water the flower pots (much appreciated by the host!) A bus (no16) goes past the site regularly. We walked intothe villageand caught the No17 into St Ives from The Old Inn bus stop. There is a great rail service from Penzance too. THere is also a lovely pub in the village, another nice pub in the next vilage of Gluvan also. We stayed in amotorhome and found it easy to cycoe to Penzance- if you turn down Poniou Lane, just past the sculpture gardens, a bridge takes you over the A30 and you can cycle into Penzance along the sea front. THere is a fish shop just over the bridge too. The local Sainsbury's has motorhome spaces in the car park, which is useful We are trying to book for next year as we want to come back regularly. Can't fault it had a brilliant time

Family summer holiday 2022

It’s hard to add to the excellent comments that people have made but this site really does take your breath away! With family history in the area we travel to Cornwall every few years but this is the first time on this site and when we next come down this will be our first choice - but we better get our skates on in booking as this site gets booked up very quickly and understandably so!! Not only are the hard-standing fully serviced pitches large but they all also have their own picnic table and flower bed! Each pitch is also locally named after local places; Land’s End, Porthcurno, Mousehole, Marazion, and St Ives which is a lovely touch. We were placed on St Ives Pitch which was so thoughtful from James as it was the end pitch next to the large open field area for our kids to play and dog to stroll. We had visitors too from our wider family staying in the area too and enjoyed using the football goal for a gentle kick about! This emphasises that this site is excellent for families too and we were surprised that we were the only family on site for most of our 16-night stay. You feel on top of the world here looking down into Mount’s Bay, around to Marazion and St Hilary to the left and Penzance, Newlyn, and Mousehole to the right. So much to see staying on site both by day and night from cars, buses, helicopters, farm machinery, ships, boats, and trains, to the twinkling of streetlights, lights on the harbours, star-filled sky, and the moonlight reflecting gorgeously on the sea! That’s to say nothing of the local wildlife. Oh and St Michael’s Mount is sometimes lit up at night too. Feeling so free and away from everything yet you are only 5 minutes from pretty much any amenity, shops, beaches, pubs, etc. even the local NT property at Trengwainton is only about 10 minutes drive. A bit of a pain having to travel to the closest caravan accessories shop at Redruth for a replacement water pump as ours died during our stay but that’s nothing to do with the site! The only possible downside to this site is that, if the wind is blowing from the South then you can hear some of the noise from Penzance but I’m struggling to find a negative here. Apparently, the approach can cause difficulty but we found no problems with our Tourneo Custom and 8-foot wide twin axle van. James and Debbie have clearly spent a lot of time and thought and invested in this site and their friendliness and helpfulness were appreciated. We’ve arrived home wishing we were still there and feeling relaxed and recuperated. After 11 years of regularly staying on CLs this is definitely the best we’ve stayed on.

Top Man James - Thanks Mike & Mandy

Just returned from an amazingly relaxing break at Castle View in Cornwall. We didn’t go very far but then again did not need to when you have such a perfect location, the photo does not do it justice. Fully serviced pitches, beautiful planted areas around the site all attended to daily by James who takes time out of his busy day to get to know you and ensure you are happy. During the recent heatwave we benefited from a gentle sea breeze, Long Rock dog friendly beach is a five minute drive and parking is £1.20 for 24 hours. It is a pleasant stroll into Penzance or Marazion and Mount St Michael from Long Rock. The White Hart is five minute walk from Castle View, you are treated like a local, very friendly. Frasers fish & chips in Penzance were so good we went twice to takeaway and eat on the prom, very busy but worth the wait. We had a 700 mile round trip and plan to do it again next year, definitely one of our favourites. Well done James & Family

Fabulous views, location and hosts for two weeks, in all aspects - and the sort of site we value the club for most.

Wow Great experience and a first class site for a proper holiday from start to finish The view and the location is the first of many proper Cornish welcomes you will get here. Overlooking the bay with beautiful and vast big sky views from Marazion to Penzance and over to Newlyn and Mousehole Flowers and well kept lawns everywhere Level private pitches with loads of space in between and water / waste on each pitch James and family are working farmers who always have time to deliver fantastic and friendly customer service, Always a smile - a conversation - a wave from the tractor, making you feel very welcome at all times. The local pub is marvelous - with a great beer garden and friendly welcoming staff and locals who seem to actually value the visitors arriving. great location for walking from site great location for dogs great location for visiting lots of places in the car we would recommend Sunday lunch in the White Hart Lunch or Breakfast at the Goldophen Hotel, lunch at the Tolcarne inn Newlyn, lunch at Mackerel sky Newlyn, Fresh crab from W Harvey and sons or the Real Cornish Crab Company Beach at Marazion. Beaches around Gwithian Towens Fish from Newly Harbour - choice of 3 mongers Thank you James Deb and Jen for creating a winning site you should be very proud of Maggie Smith / Neil and Poppy the slightly enthusiastic / unruly Labrador puppy we shall return

Outstanding Experience at Castle View CL

I have absolutely no doubt what so ever. Castle View CL is the most stunningly beautiful site I have ever stayed on. The owner James tops it all off, one in a million a real pleasure to have met him, top man. Each level hard standing pitch is complete with enhanced EHU with drinking water and grey waste drain, (there is also a picnic table) has been position to maximise on the stunning panoramic views. The distance between each site further enhances the luxury of the site. Thank you James for all the hard work you have put into your CL which has allowed us to have the perfect Holiday

Our June '22 holiday

Easily THE BEST site we have ever stopped on! James the owner was very friendly and welcoming. Myself and my husband have just spent the week here and would highly recommend a stay here. Very beautiful and well kept site. The views are amazing. Was very gutted when we had to go home. Hopefully we will be back to visit in the future.

Mounts Bay view - great

We have just returned home from our wonderful week at Castle View and we are already looking forward to our next stay in June next year! The weather was magnificent, sunny with a light breeze all week that enabled us to totally unwind while sitting out side of the caravan watching the tide and the boats come in and out of Mounts Bay. Castle View is a great site that is looked after and cared for by James and Jen to the highest standard possible. What a joy it was to arrive and see the site and the views.

I can't add much more than previous reviews. When we arrived the views were jawdropping. The pitches are well spaced and positioned for privacy. James was always on hand if you needed anything. We'll situated for beaches, coastal walks and cycling. Highly recommended!!
