Immaculate CL

We stayed here over the Bank Holiday, all communication prior to (and after) arrival was good with a comprehensive information sheet on the do/don'ts before our arrival. The whole site is immaculate, well mown areas, the facilities were very clean and tidy. Two toilets/showers although we didn't use them but had a peak and they were spotless, as was the dishwashing area for the campers who were pitched in the adjacent field. The layout for the CL users is in the shape of a clockface plus one safari tent. The fully serviced pitches were a good size although you have to park your car in the separate (close) car park, all divided by hedging. Entry to the site is via a secure gate with keypad. There is not a dedicated dog walk, however plenty of room to exercise your dog on lead. We found the site to be very quiet, especially at night, the silence only broken by the flagpole when the wind picked up. A pleasure to talk to the goats who came over for a head scratch. There are a choice of farmshops to visit in the local area which enabled us to stock up on some essentials, can recommend Wykham Farmshop close to Banbury with its large butchery and other supplies. It is clear that a lot of pride is taken with this CL, its definitely one we would return to, we enjoyed our stay here.

nearly there

This is the best CL site we have ever used, lovely walk around site, great Local Pubs, ideal for day trips out to the Cotswolds. But don't tell everyone, we don't want it to get to busy. We will be back,, Arnie

Peaceful surroundings

We've just returned from a lovely 4 nights at Crofts Barn in our motorhome ... This peaceful site is run by Stephanie and her husband, who are always on hand to help or answer any questions. The whole site is immaculate and grounds well kept. The toilets/showers are clean and hot water always available. We enjoyed feeding the 4 very cute goats! There are 5 large pitches in a circle, each secluded by hedging, so you're not overlooked by the 'neighbours'. There is camping field which is separate to the touring pitches. Majority of the local pubs are closed on Monday & Tuesday, we ordered a yummy Indian delivery with no problem and came on time! There is a local butcher about 3 miles away and can highly recommend their Pork Pies, Scotch Eggs, homemade Sausages and all the meat we bought for BBQ was lovely. The local pub opens at weekends, but we visited midweek, so needed our tow car to go further afield for pub food and local shops. There are quaint surrounding villages. Would definitely return to this tranquil site and a lovely part of Oxfordshire - thank you Stephanie for making us feel welcome - highly recommend Crofts Barn 5*

Peaceful Break

We were due to stay for the Bank Holiday weekend. The site was so peaceful with beautiful sunsets and the facilities always really clean. After a lovely few days it all went wrong as our dog was taken seriously ill. Thanks to the information board we had a local vets details and were able to get him treated. It was touch and go and involved 48 hours in the veterinary hospital but we have him back and fingers crossed he's on the mend. I can't thank Stephanie and Wayne enough for allowing us to extend our stay. Stephanie also kept in touch to see how Shelby was doing. I can't recommend this site highly enough, we will definitely be back 😀

Immaculate Site

We recently returned from a short break at Crofts Barn. The site is immaculately maintained with spacious fully serviced pitches and a modern shower/WC block.

The Perfect Site

What a gem of a site this is! Tranquil location, sparkling clean toilets and showers and a wonderful on site woodland walk. The circular layout works really well providing some privacy with hedges on each pitch. The owners have put a lot of thought and effort into making this an exceptional site.

A beautiful and peaceful site

I've just returned from a 5 night stay at Crofts Barn while visiting friends and family in the area. From start to finish, we felt the site was professionally run - but in no way regimented. The unusual layout of the site means you are not overlooked by any other pitch, yet you are close enough to chat to your neighbours as you walk around the site. The booking process via the owner's website was very efficient and once booked, the owner (Stephanie) sends arrival instructions by email and (nice touch here) a message on day 2 asking if everything was ok for us. We were hardly around during the day so only saw Stephanie once, and her husband the following evening. However, when the wifi went off one morning, we messaged Stephanie as we went out and it was back up and running when we returned. The owners clearly put a lot of effort into keeping the grass mown and the two on-site bathrooms beautifully clean. £30 a night for a full service pitch on a CL might seem a lot, but for us it was worth every penny, and we loved the place. We will be back!

Quiet little get away.

We have just spent 2 lovely nights here. The site is beautifully thought out and immaculate. Its so peaceful and quiet here. Loved the added bonus of the Horse, Donkeys and Goats. Yes you pay a bit more than most sites but to us it was worth the cost. Thank you to our hosts for their warm welcome and recommendations of where to eat etc.

Lovely peaceful well designed site

Thank you to Stephanie for answering our phone call on Saturday afternoon when we were desperately searching for an alternative CL site after having to cancel our planned booking at another site! Easy booking system on line and an hour later we were parking up in our VW Campervan. Loved the well thought out design of the site, with beech hedges which gave privacy. Spotless toilet/ shower facilities, and appreciated the washing up area. Nice site walk planned out for you. Very peaceful rural location, couldn’t help noticing the beautiful mature Ash trees, hope they are still here in 10 years time and they don’t succumb to Ash Chalara. A very beautiful location, with plenty of walking opportunities on our next visit.

Worth the wait?

Crofts Barn has been on my "must visit" list for some time, it's layout is very different from the norm. The booking in process was 1st class. Emails were answered promptly, the required deposit was sent by bacs, and two weeks before arrival we had a reminder that the deposit was due. A week later we had another communication giving us all arrival details, electronic gate code and where to find all the facilities with a plan of the site. All very efficient. Our pitch was slightly sloping, because of heavy rain the day before we arrived it was not too easy to level up. The serviced pitch tap and grey waste were a joy to use. Crofts Barn is Adult Only, another big plus. This is what we were paying for, a heafty £30 per night, it has to be good. At no point in our 5 night stay did we meet the owners. That I find very odd. The site and pitches are dominated by a self catering Safari Tent. The adjacent caravan pitches are very close, and as with awnings, a canvas sheet does not stop sound, spoken or other, from escaping. At gone midnight we could clearly hear the occupants enjoying their stay. We were not adjacent, it must have been grim for the two vans that were. So,because of the Safari Tent, we would not return to Crofts Barn. If it was to be taken away or moved to its own location away from the caravan pitches, we would. What a shame to spoil such an unusual CL.
