Another excellent fortnight at GH 😃

Go, you won’t be disappointed! We’ve just came back from our third fortnight stay at Goodleigh Hill CL in Worcestershire. Fully serviced hardstanding pitches. Facing a meadow that is part of the Worcestershire County Council and Worcester Wildlife Trust initiative to create more than 44 hectares of habitat for wildlife across Worcestershire and is celebrating two years of achievements. You can walk your dogs on the meadow unless it’s in flower. The site is secure with a coded entry gate. It’s adults only, but dog friendly. Each pitch has 16amp EHU, water and grey waste drainage. There are no showers or toilets on site. The owners provide you with a folder full of information. It was £23 per night with electricity on top. We used gas and electric and after 14 nights we totalled it up to roughly £79. There is some road noise, but nothing that bothered us and we do not live by a busy road. Ideally located with a ten minutes walk in to Pershore, which has many places to dine in. Beautiful Abbey and grounds. We are members of EH, NT and HH and there are many places that are within easy driving distance that you can visit with your membership. We haven’t managed to go everywhere yet! Emily and Matthew are excellent hosts and you can see they put a lot of time and effort in to their site. Hopefully we will make it there for a fourth time at some point.

Fabulous CL site

Just spent 4 nights at this CL site, and wow the whole site is quality. Emily was very pleasant and most helpful and the local information folder supplied is amazing. The site is all hardstanding and level with water, grey drainage and metered electricity on every pitch. The site is protected by an electrical operated gate and the gate number and pitch number was supplied by text on day of arrival. Things to do around this area are numerous and if you are a member of the National Trust you are in heaven. The road alongside the site can be heard during the day but very quiet at night. Would we return to this sight, the answer is a resounding yes.

Lovely!

The pitches are very large, flat and fully serviced with metered electricity. The Elsan point, bins and recycling area are all just a few metres away behind a screen and there is also a handy little greenhouse selling local produce such as juice and pickles. Emily is friendly and is a font of knowledge regarding the local area. She can tell you where the nicest pubs are ,the prettiest walks and views, the best place to park your car, which route up a hill isn't as steep as another! She has also produced an information folder for each pitch the like of which we've never seen before, so detailed and very helpful. The road outside can be a little loud at busy times but quietens right down at night , we did not find it a problem We have enjoyed our weekend here and hope to be back before too long ...thank you very much Emily !

Excellent site!

Goodleigh Hill CL is just brilliant. Directions are the best we’ve ever had, indeed the whole package goes above and beyond the norm. Booking easy and promptly followed up with detailed instructions and a text on the day with your pitch No. and gate codes etc. The pitches are huge with loads of room for caravan car and awning if using. Fully serviced hard standing with electricity, water tap and drainage. Lovely west facing outlook over a flower meadow, being February we were not able to witness this but the sunsets were amazing and we will certainly be returning in the summer. Emily provides every pitch with the most extensive pack we have ever witnessed packed with local walks, of which there are numerous, directly from the site and in the local area, along with many other places to visit. This corner of the Cotswolds is full of delightful villages with pubs and tea shops galore but felt less touristy. I have grudgingly only given 4 stars for peace and tranquillity as there is a road alongside the site, mainly used by local traffic, but we hardly noticed it and was very quiet at night. There is absolutely nothing not to like about this site. We will definitely return and cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you Mathew and Emily for all your efforts we hope to see you again soon.

Second visit just as good as the first

We reviewed this site favourably in Sep 19 and are happy to do so again. Our pitch fee was £20 excluding electricity. We were surprised how little electricity we used - about 36p per day. We ran everything we could on LPG which worked out at about £2/litres per day but it was mild for the time of year. We enjoyed our walks from the site and recommend the Swan in Birlingham for lunch and the No 8 Arts Centre in Pershore for coffee (and a film if there is one) which is run by volunteers. We also saw an otter on a quiet section of the Avon which was a first for us. Emily runs the site exceptionally well and provides each pitch with an excellent information pack which includes maps and recommendations for everything. She visits the CL daily and readily provides advice on the area.

Top Marks All Round

As previous reviews have stated, this site provides five large, level hard standing pitches which are all fully serviced. Communication with the owners is very straightforward - deposit required on booking with balance payable before arrival. Comprehensive terms and conditions which I was quite happy with. Access is from a B road through locked gates (keypad entry) and feels very secure. However, if you are turning right into the site from the road and have a long outfit, it is advisable to take a good swing into the entrance - you will effectively be making a U turn through the gates into the site and the offside of your outfit may end up uncomfortably close to an unforgiving brick wall. Plenty of walking from the site with many places of interest just a short drive away. Emily provides a large information pack for each pitch and is on hand to answer any queries. At the time of our visit (October 22), pitch fee was £23 per night including 10 units of electricity per night (meter for additional units to be paid for separately). Highly recommended and will definitely visit again.

Excellent CL, great location and welcome

We have stayed at Goodleigh Hill on 2 occasions this year, firstly as a quick stopover on our journey back from Cornwall and this week for longer 4 night break. The fully serviced pitches are excellent and convenient for a longer break. Emily has plenty of information in her folders and is always on hand to provide information if needed. Plenty to do in Pershore and we found 2 great pubs, The Star which is highly recommended for a Sunday lunch! The Pickled Plum where we enjoyed a few beers on our last day. There is some good fishing available in the area on the Avon. Fladbury is well worth a visit for a riverside walk.

Simply great!

My wife, dogs & I have just stayed Goodleigh Hill for seven nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our week. Emily is both extremely helpful and goes out of her way to ensure that all of her guests have the best time that they can do. The Town of Pershore is a reasonable walk and well worth it too. Good choice of cafes, restaurants and takeaways (loved the Thai……). We will most certainly return. Thanks Emily, we appreciate all that you do! Baz, Jan & our Timorous Beasties!

An excellent, well thought out CL

Our first visit here and it won’t be our last. A very welcoming CL with great attention to detail in a very informative information pack. We felt very safe and secure with the key pad gates on both the vehicle access and the pedestrian access. Having water and waste on each pitch with the ability to pitch whichever way you fancy really appeals to us and the Elsan and waste disposal point was spotless. Our only minor niggle, and it’s a very minor one which certainly wouldn’t stop us returning or recommending, was the road noise but we live in a quiet cul-de-sac so we are not used to it and the benefits of the site definitely outweighed the traffic. We loved the fact we could walk into town easily, Pershore is a beautiful place with lots of independent traders, welcoming coffee shops and pubs, a beautiful park too, we really really loved it, it reminded us of how towns used to be. Lots of other places easily accessible too and walking galore in a beautiful area. We have already recommended the site and will be back probably with friends. Thank you Emily, for making us so welcome

2nd Visit - Just as good

This was our second visit to Goodleigh Hill. If only all CLs were of this standard. Large pitches, fully serviced, choice of pitching direction and no obstructions blocking the glorious sunshine we had. Hourly bus to Worcester or Evesham. Pershore itself is a lovely market town with an Asda supermarket and other interesting shops and cafes. Emily has to be commended for her friendliness and the information pack she provides to all visitors. Our only small negative was the road noise, which appears to have increased since our visit in 2021. Regarding the £22 cost, mentioned by someone, yes a grass site with distant water tap, dubious security and poor sanitation disposal, may be cheaper, but CLs with equivalent facilities, care, appearance, security, convenience transport and shops etc, are difficult to find for less cost.
