Great CL

We stayed 2 nights in a Motorhome. This is a great location, bus stop close for Oxford and great for visiting Thame. We will be back and will stay longer. Electric points an water taps at pitches. As stated previously John is very helpful and plenty of information leaflets available.

An oasis

A superb site especially for motorhomes. Everything in walking distance. Quiet site but beware the church clock! The site is reminiscent of the Darling Buds of May with chickens running around and the river Thame along the site. A short walk away there is a multi acre field where dogs can run free and swim in the river. I also heard the site described as like Narnia as it opens up as you pass through the gate. All in all a brilliant site, very friendly owners and ideal for any length of stay. We will visit again.

Great Choice, Lovely CL

This is a lovely CL, only five minutes walk from the main street of Thame. Everything you would need even for the more selective of us. Great micro brewery beer shop in town, and a superb Chinese takeaway, (Famous House) opp. the cattle market as you wander into town. Most appealing to have a Waitrose within 5mins walk, as well. Even with the closeness of the Town there is a wonderful peaceful environment at the CL. Watching the chickens wander and the occasional flash of the Red Kites became a de-stressing exercise. We were not fortunate to have good weather, in fact it was foul all week but the CL took all that was offered and we refused to let it spoil our holiday. John was a warm welcoming man and he made sure all were happy. We thoroughly recommend the site and when we return to the area we will visit again. PS. I never got to see your "Flying Flea" John. Amazing secluded spot in the midst of historic market town !

We’ve just had the pleasure of staying at Lashlake barns in Thame, Oxfordshire. The site is absolutely beautiful with an adundance of wildlife on your doorstep including a nest of red kites nearby, surrounded by a tranquil river it really is so peaceful and yet just short walk in to the historic market town of Thame with all its upmarket shops and one of the oldest street markets in the country held on a Tuesday. A walk around Thame reveals beautiful listed buildings and thatched cottages There’s a museum in the town and a modern library. All of the surrounding villages are picturesque and the setting for the popular Midsomer murders tv programme. Right Opposite the site is a bus stop where the 280 bus (very regular) will take you straight in to Oxford city, (saving all the bother of car parking.) Within 2 miles is the Haddenham parkway train station with direct trains to Marylebone taking just 45mins. The owners of this site could not be more welcoming or friendly. we are definitely making this Site a regular as the combination of town amenities and seclusion are very special indeed.

Good Thame location with friendly owners

A good location to explore Thame and surrounding areas. The CL owner John was very helpful, providing Tourist information guides and suggestions of local places to visit. Site ideally located with easy access to footpaths and cycling routes.

Nice stay

Postcode takes you right to entrance but worth looking on google street view first, as the sign is set back from the road. John made us feel very welcome and we chose a nice pitch by the river. As others had mentioned the local kites were entertaining as the stay in the trees on the site. Thame is well worth a couple of days walking around and the historic walks available on the site are worth doing. We will return, thanks.

A delightful site with friendly owners

Just spent a couple of nights at Lashlake Barn. What a lucky find. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by John and shown to a lovely level field with very generous pitches. One end of the site is on the river’s edge where we enjoyed an amazing sunset. The pair of kites nesting in a tree near us also kept us entertained. It is only a short walk from the site into Thame, a quaint market town with a really good selection of shops. There are several lovely walks directly from the site which take in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. On our way home we spent a couple of hours by the duck pond in Haddenham on John’s recommendation. A really pretty spot. Can’t wait to stay again.

Fantastic place for our maiden voyage

This was our first overnight stay in our camper, purchased late last year. The whole thing is new to us and we couldn’t have picked a better place for our first stay. We were greeted by John who was really helpful even lent us a couple of tools. The site is well equipped with electric hookups for all pitches. We couldn’t use the toilet facilities due to COVID restriction but we have a toilet so wasn’t a problem for us and it was just one night. The site is brilliantly located in that it’s quiet and has lovely views but is close enough to town so it gives you access to pubs, shops and the lovely sites of Thame. A great added extra was the Kites nesting in one of the trees. Amazing to see them gliding overhead. We learnt a lot about our camper on this trip and feel better about doing further stays. We will definitely go back to Lashlake Barn CL as it is lovely with welcoming hosts and not too far from home. Thank you John and Allie

A great site, run by great owners.

We have just returned from what was meant to be 7 nights at this wonderful site, but we extended it to 11 nights as it was so good. We was greeted by John, who explained everything we needed to know, and was always about for questions, places to visit or just to chew the fat. To get the negatives out of the way there is some minor background traffic noise, but given the wonderful location this is easily overlooked, as the benefits of the location greatly outweigh this, and after a couple of days we didn't even notice it. The site is a big field accessed by solid security gates, all the pitches were grass, level, have EHU and a water tap, and are very well sheltered from high winds. The river Thame runs along the back of the site, where you can fish, or just sit and take in the view, and watch the kingfishers. For bird lovers there was plenty of life, with the aforementioned kingfishers, swans, tits, woodpeckers, owls, buzzards and kites to name a few with the latter nesting on site in season. The 4 resident chickens will keep you entertained watching them chase insects around the site. There is a nice toilet and large shower on site, all in one room, but that is currently closed because of covid, and having a sneak peak, was very suitable for the site. It is a 10 minute walk to the lovely market town of Thame, with an abundance of shops, supermarkets (Waitrose and Sainsburys) cafes and pubs to browse, and you can grab a takeaway tea/coffee and sit and watch the world go by in the memorial gardens. On the walk to town you pass the beautiful well kept cricket ground with St Marys Church just behind, which is the resting place of Robin Gibb and Elizabeth Spriggs among others. Around the area there are loads of pretty villages and towns, Haddenham duck pond and church is worth a visit, as is the Brill windmill perched up high on common grazing land with sensational views and local walks. This is a site we didn't want to leave and will definitely be visiting again. We were very surprised that it had only recently opened, and John has done a great job setting it up.

First class site very helpful and friendly

Lovely site. Very secure with electric gates even though the area didn’t look as if they were needed but nice just in case. Flat site with plenty of room. Picnic table. Water and electric next to every pitch. Clean modern toilet emptying etc. Chatted to John the owner who couldn’t have been more helpful. We intended to visit Oxford but Thame was so nice we didn’t make it. Maybe next time. Lovely walks close by. Quiet and peaceful site. We will be going back.
