Just visited this CL in Bakewell, access was very difficult, both the single track poor access lanes and immediate access to the site, whether in a caravan or motorhome. Arrived expecting a hard standing pitch for our 7m motorhome only to find all 3 hard standing pitches occupied despite being told that a hard standing pitch would be available when we made the booking in February and paid the requested deposit. Struggled on a sloping wet grass pitch, which was a challenge to level the van. The site is in a pretty location with lovely views, however the myriad of rules felt very restrictive with fines being warned concerning use of electricity. No recycling available, the pitches are in close proximity to each other, internet access is near impossible and the telephone signal is poor! Certainly won’t be returning to this CL.
Great relaxing weekend
Well what can I say. This fabulous charming little site, ticked all the boxes for us. The views are to die for. We enjoyed a very peaceful relaxing three nights. Plenty of walking direct from the site. Beautiful walk along River Lathkill, to Monyash one way and Over Haddon the other direction, with great pubs at each location. We will definitely be back. Thank you for having us. Ralph & Della
Great Site
We stayed 4 nights at this CL site which is perfectly located for walking along Lathkill Dale and to Bakewell. The site is well set out, quiet and we were welcomed on arrival. We would recommend this site.
Strongly Recommended
This is a wonderfully quiet site in a beautiful area: the owners take great pride in its maintenance. The confirmation email , however, is perhaps rather terse and could helpfully be reworded. There is a sharp right turn into the site but this will not present a problem to drivers who know their own outfits and there is plenty on space to manoeuvre. The owner lays down clear guidelines, made necessary I expect by the poor conduct of CAMC members in the past who have not behaved reasonably. We found the owners to be most helpful, friendly and up for a quick chat. We greatly enjoyed our stay on this site which is a great asset to the Club network and is a real gem.
relaxing break
just stayed for 2nights at mill farm , very well kept , lovely location , very picturesque &peaceful , lots of waking direct from the site in every direction , walked to monyash via lathkill dale (approx 2 hours ) had lunch at the black bull and walked back , beautiful scenic walk , will definitely return & walk the other direction to over haddon .
owners helpful with directions , met on arrival & given all information needed .
Lovely quiet site
We stayed for a short break and found the site easily from the directions given. The views from the site are fabulous and it was peaceful when sitting around the van. The site is well maintained and clean and tidy. Easy access to lots of places to visit. Plenty of off road cycling and walks. Too many to chose from! Yes it is tight to get in and out of the field off the drive but not an issue if you are confident and take your time. Would highly recommend if you want a quiet site and use facilities in your van. We will definitely visit again.
Amazing little CL and a re-balanced review from the last two
We have been coming here for years. Its Picture perfect and everything a CL should be. The Terms that the owners welcome caravaners are clear and polite. And they run an extremely smart site. With reference to the last two acidic reviews, you do have to know how to drive an outfit and manoeuvre in anything other that a manicured Club site. There is plenty of room to get on site and exit but don't expect a large late arrivals park...
Bio Security over the last few years is a real problem for farms and urban warriors have little inclination to understand let alone be asked to observe some local common sense.
If you read the two negative reviews they share an odd membership name, in no way typical of the usual reviews.
Both probably indicative of social media warriors.....
If you want a delightful getaway with a virtually private Dale on your doorstep and a great pub or two within walking distance then its perfect. Hosts are lovely.

Rude, grumpy owners
Arriving early evening, we were surprised at the harsh right turn from narrow driveway into a gate for the site - had to turn in the farmyard.
We returned from a day out with two cars & dropped my car, (friends staying nearby) for Mrs Marsden to be rude about us having friends in one car whilst we dropped one of, shouting ‘what don’t you understand, i said no visitors!!’ … what a way to meet your paying customers.
Do not recommend. Will not return. Thankfully we go home tomorrow.

First and LAST
this could be a brilliant site if
Mrs Marsdon could be bothered to welcome you on arrival but put a sign on the gate DO NOT go to the farm but phone this mobile no ( i had no phone signal )
I had been instructed by email to place my van with the rear right hand side in line with the marker pitch was so small when i did this my tow hitch was half way across the road (gravel track) had a loan of a phone to get some guidance and advise and got a reply of yes what do you want, after a short discussion when i refused to have my tow hitch half way across the only access track with a cone placed at the tow hitch point i was then told well you'll have to park it across the pitch tow hitch was on the grass in front and back end on the grass at the rear.
no signs to let you know the location of the grey waste or the elsan point
to me this owner wants your money a week before you arrive and once you have paid tough get on with it and don't bother them
True gem
One of the best cl's we've stayed on! Beautiful views, better hardstandings than the club site's, peace and tranquility, extremely well cared for which blends in to the surrounding landscape. Walkers/hikers paradise with access to lathkill Dale a short distance straight from the site which leads to many Beautiful villages ,we hiked over 30 miles to Monyash, Bakewell, Over Haddon and Youlgreave during our stay.Access to the site is not a problem with a little common sense and wouldn't consider it a problem at all!the lane leading to the site is fairly uneven etc but it's a countryside hideaway so wouldn't expect any other and definitely isn't a problem with care and attention. Absolutely nothing to fault we loved it!
