Fantastic CL.

This is a really great CL. We only stay on CL sites because we enjoy a smaller site and this is fab. The photos don’t do it full justice, its a large flat and quite site with shower and toilet, the electric gate entrance makes the site feel very secure and you get a key fob to get in and out. We had no phone signal ( O2 ) but that didn’t bother us, the tv reception was good but you won’t need a tv as there is tones to do on the doorstep. We walked from the site every day for 4 days and saw something new each time. From Rufford Abbey to Sherwood pines and the Sherwood visitors centre we loved the walks in the woods. There is a great pub 1 mile away through the grounds of the abbey ( free to get in ) called rose cottage which is lovely. WiFi would help on the site as there is no signal and we all like to check the weather and download the paper. We will be back.

A little gem of a site

This little site is very well presented with electric gates for added security. The site was a flat grassed paddock which seemed well drained. The toliet and shower was still under installation when we visited in early May, although we could use the toilet. The owners were very welcoming and full of local knowledge.Being so close to Rufford Park is lovely (its just across the road) and Sherwood Pines is also very close (even closer if you cycle) The ford below the site is closed so its a bit of a detour through Ollerton to get to the site, but worth it as its pretty quiet with only a distant hum of the A617. The pub is a 10 minute walk through the Rufford Park woods and serves excellent food. Its advisory to book though due to the proximety to Center Parcs. My only negative observation was it seemed a bit pricey for what you got.
