5* CL

We arrived on site Friday 31/7/20 via the short access lane which had easy accessibility and were welcomed to the site by Eric. He was very friendly and helpful and gave us lots of useful about the site and the local area. The pitches and facilities were spotlessly clean and very spacious with each having its own electric, grey waste, mains water and picnic table. The site has access to many pleasant walks including the waterfall 10 minutes walk ( which our two cockapoo dogs enjoyed) and Pontesbury hill which we tackled and then dropped down the other side to the village and back to the site taking around 3 hours. The village being a 15 minute walk from the site had several amenities including a Co op, a Chinese and Indian restaurant, a local Bakery/Butchers and a couple of pubs. The Nags Head pub is situated between the site and the village and although we only had drinks they were serving excellent looking meals at reasonable prices. We highly recommend this site and believe it to be a credit to its owners and The Caravan Club. We are looking forward to returning in the future. Brian and Joanne Hewitt

Fantastic CL

Just spent 3 nights on this super site. Very friendly welcome and informative. Hardstanding pitches all having own water and grey waste and level. Didn’t use the shower or toilet facilities however they looked spotlessly clean and very covid secure. There are plenty of walks direct from the site. A beautiful walk to a waterfall was a hidden treat 20 mins from the site. The local village has all amenities you would want for a longer stay and lovely countryside all around. Will definitely be returning as it is one of the best CL’s I’ve stayed on.

Even Storm Ciara couldn't spoil the weekend!

On arrival we were met by Dave who gave us insight into the area. The Nags is well worth a visit and is only a 10 minute walk away. The wind was very strong and Dave took the trouble to check that all was well each day. Normally you wouldn't want this but in the circumstances it was very reassuring.

Out standing site

Regarding a previous review all issues seem to be resolved as this site is extremely well kept and entrance recently cut and will be returning again ( if Sarah and Dave will have us ) 5 star

Dissapointed

After reading previous reviews, our expectations were high. The pitches although hard standing were muddy around the edges and needed more hardcore. The shower rooms were good but needed the floor cleaning, not cleaned once during our stay. Mop provided was full of grit and of no use, to use ourselves. The recyclable rubbish was overflowing and needed sorting out. The approach road is very narrow and could do with the brambles cutting back. On a positive note we had a nice welcome with a full folder of leaflets on things to do. The area has lots of places to visit and a good village with local shops and pub in walking distance. It wouldn't take a lot of effort to make this a top notch site. it felt a little neglected. Such a shame.

One of the best

This is one of the 5 best CLs we have ever stayed on in 39 years caravanning. Essentially very spacious super-pitches (water, elec. and waste to every pitch) around a grass "village green". Mr & Mrs Carline are excellent "hosts" and provide each visitor with a comprehensive informatiojn file. It is not possible to rate this CL any higher. It is just SUPERB.

What a little gem (not a lettuce)

We had a 9 night stay on what we found to be a super CL owned and run by Sarah and David who are both very friendly and helpful. Besides each pitch being fully serviced hard standings with the grass areas well kept by David, they have built 2 showers with a sink and toilet in each, both of which are kept very clean. Each plot also has its own picnic bench which is excellent for outside eating. The site is super quiet at night, and good for observing wildlife during the day. There are plenty of walks in the locality and some even start from the site (a lovely woodland with waterfall). Local shops are within walking distance and there are also 3 pubs 2 of which serve good food. The local bakery/butchers is very popular. Sarah and David recommended the local chinese restaurant and it did not disappoint. Very tasty dishes at a very reasonable price. Plenty of other attractions are within easy driving distance as are several National Cycle Routes. We will definately be going back again - if we can get in!

Great site, facilities spot on

What a wonderful site, lovely pitches with electric, water and waste connections. Two rooms each with a toilet and shower where super and had plenty of hooks and a chair. Pub and shops within walking distance. The butchers/bakery was very good as was the cafe. You get folder on arrival which has lots of walks with many run through the site. We couldn't fault the site and is now one of my favourites.

What a lovely spot

Great CL looked after by the hard working owners.Beautiful surroundings with lots of walks.Enjoyed cycling especially into Shrewsbury which is a wonderful picturesque town, a real treat the Quarry Riverside Park.If you like your spirits, I can recommend Wrekin Whiskies in Shrewsbury, great selection and and very enthusiastic owner. If you do the trip into Shrewsbury try and go via Lyth Hill Country Park which has glorious views across the valley and hills. The site has a perfect pitches with own potable water and gray waste ,electrics and your own picnic bench ,so very convenient when the weather is suitable. The free shower and toilet is excellent. The local cats are very amusing also.A highly recommended site.We will definitely have to return to Shropshire.

Brilliant site & brilliant owners

Our second stay here at this fabulous CL site. Cannot fault anything about the site and Sarah & David are the best hosts you could wish for. Very warm welcome to us and very easy to get on with. Always there if you needed them. We had a problem with our cars rear brake pads late into the afternoon on the day before we were due to leave, giving us a problem, not being able to use the car never mind towing our caravan home. David to the rescue !!!!! He offered to help me source and fit new brake pads if we could not find a garage to do the job in time for us to leave for home. We had no luck, so besides being tired and up to his eyes in work in the field after a few nightshifts as a paramedic,David called a friend who was a mechanic, who arranged to pick up the new brake pads the following morning,, drive here from Telford and fit the new pads to our car on site. He and David arrived at 9-40 am, and completed the job in 40 minutes, giving us plenty of time to pack up and leave in time. A massive massive thank you to David and the mechanic for helping us out of a major problem. Obviously nothing is to much trouble for this great couple. A must for all CL site lovers.
