Lovely long weekend

Just returned from a lovely weekend here. First time we have visited but will definitely come again.  All facilities  up to usual high standard of the club and well maintained by the friendly wardens.  Woodland/river walks next door were a bonus - with disabled access and walks for all levels of ability - great for families or individuals. Lovely views of Bolton Abbey and surrounding area.

Perfect

After a tough winter at work we selected this site for our first outing of 2016. We have been several times and its always perfect. The site is well looked after, the wardens are friendly, facilities spotless and best of all there is no mobile phone signal! In fact I think its the best caravan club site on the circuit. Well done and we will be back again before autumn.

fantastic

We have just returned from 2 nights here, we can't find any fault with this site. Wardens are friendly, facilities are wonderfully clean. It is a lovely peaceful site and the surrounding area is gorgeous. While we were there we booked to go back in the summer!

Great winter break

Just returned from 8 night stay, although we have been caravanning for 20+ years this is the first time we have ventured out at this time of year and it wont be the last. Cant really find anything wrong with this site or the area, wardens were friendly and helpful, facilities were well kept and the surrounding area was just what we wanted. We will certainly be returning here in the future.

Lovely Christmas and New Year Break

We had a lovely stay here between Christmas and New Year, the site is well looked after and the facilities are very clean, except on the wardens day off (New Years Day) when the ladies don't seem to know how to clean the toilets after they have used them, I was shocked that club members could leave all four of them in such a state.  This site is fabulous for walking, the area has wonderful scenery and wildlife.  It was particularly good this year to walk from the site down to the cavendish pavilion where the theme was the 12 days of Christmas, excellent for the grandchildren and family when they came to visit us.  The wardens are very friendly and helpful.  Our TV service was good, although anagram only, we knew that there would be no phone signal, but the wifi worked well and we stayed in contact using this. We look forward to our next visit and hope that we don't have to wait until last minute to book due to those people who make bookings and then cancel at the last minute.

Great New Year stay but poor TV connection maintenance

We have stayed at Strid Wood many times and have never been disappointed. No matter what season you go there the countryside is constantly changing in a breathtaking way. We love walking in the area and the 'Craven Arms Pub'. (Gateway to the ales!) After a long walk it is always nice to snuggle down with a book, paper or watch the TV. Sadly due to lack of maintenance 3 of the 4 tv aerial sockets were broken in the nearest outlet to our pitch. Come on caravan club what happened to the regular maintenance checks. It doesn't cost that much to replace an aerial socket!

Best Christmas !!

Lovely site, great for walking every day.  Really enjoyed our quiet Christmas and New Year break - no noisy fireworks to make my dog bark for 30 minutes at midnight was worth every penny spent !! New wardens doing good job - site very clean and tidy.

lovely stay!

This was our first 'winter caravanning holiday' and we loved it! Bit scary to tow the caravan through the snow over the hills, but arrived at the site all snow was gone so no issues there. We were surprised by the amount of power we could use as it was cold (minus 4) and we could keep it nice and snug while watching the tele. which is by the way analog - cables were for sale at the reception. No phone signal but the wifi worked ok (not all the time but hey you are on holiday). Location is great for walking - you can follow the river all the way to bolton abbey, approx 30 mins to 45 mins (we have kids). Site is lovely, with pitches on different levels so enough green around you. You really have the feeling to be in the outdoors (not in rows on a field). We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go camping between xmas and new year next year!

Winter wonderland

The end of December 2014 was very cold (minus 4 degrees centigrade) here at the Strid. The site was very good and the staff very helpful. The surrounding area is super for walking.
