What a Lovely Site

Hidden away in the heart of the Sussex Countryside, this site was just the getaway we wanted. We only live in Brighton !! But this hidden away little gem meant we could escape the hassles of work and people. The site is so pretty, when you drive in, there are overflowing flowerpots of flowers. I know its coming into summer but I feel sure it's always as well cared for. The choice of the large open space or being tucked away in the woods is a fun decision to make. Both are lovely, but we wanted to make the most of the sun so we opted for the open space.  Pitches are huge with plenty of space to keep yourselves to yourselves, but equally a friendly site and popular with dog owners. It's nice to have a dog walk just by walking around the site. Nearby villages are lovely. East Hoathley has a lovely coffee shop and local stores.  The wardens were so friendly, we loved it and will definitely be back.

A Good Site

This is truly a peaceful rural site, therefore it is easy to understand why it seems so popular with so many season pitch holders occupying the site. We chose it as it was central to the various places we wished to visit. The wardens, as you come to expect from the Caravan Club, are helpful, friendly and keep the site in well maintained order. Fortunately our caravan has a well appointed rear wash room so the absence of a toilet block was not a major problem and at £12.50pn for a warden operated secure site is excellent value for money.

Nice site quiet and tidy

Visited this site April 2015. Very friendly wardens ready to greet you on your arrival. Kept tidy, and plenty of room happy we were with this site, although a toilet block would give this full marks. A pretty village, with Horsham a car ride away, all in all a nice place for the weekend.

Lovely Site

This is our second time here and still love this site. Great location near the little village of East Hoathly, nice walk into the village and great pub serving delicious food. Wardens are lovely and are there if you need help but don't bother you otherwise. It wasn't busy when we were there a couple of weeks ago so it was lovely and quiet but even if it was busy the pitches are nicely spaced out and so I don't think it would be too noisy or intrusive

Favourite site with fantastic wardens

As regulars to Broomfield Farm we would like to say what a wonderful site this is. The Wardens are friendly and professional in every way and go out of their way to help all who stay on the site. I admit it is not a family site if you want playgrounds and facilities for children but if you want to encourage the young generation to the delights of the natural world there is no better for bird life, wildlife, walking etc. It is a peaceful site and the majority of members respect the people who stay here , who come for the peace away from the rush of life , unfortunately there are people who can be louder than acceptable, possibly without realising it , so if you are having a lively evening and are in your awning think about those around you !! ( I feel the review from Daddy O is possibly blaming children rather than adults !!! ). Don't be put off coming here , having caravanned since the age of 9 with my family on sites with no facilities for children, it has taught me how to love the country and you do not need the age of technology to do that

Not a family site

We have just spent 3 nights at this site, with another family who joined specifically to come down to Broomfield. On the morning of our 3rd Day the warden approached us and said there had been complaints about noise over the last two nights, we were shocked on both nights we were sitting in the awning chatting, and tucked up in bed by 10pm as we have very young children. Another 2 couples told us they had the same thing from the warden and they had young children too. This is obviously not a child friendly site. As the day progressed we chatted to more couples, and many of the ones with children were told to keep the noise down, and like us they were tucked up in bed quite early. It's a shame that the caravan club is continuing its image of a club for retired caravaners, all the articles in the club magazines try to convince you otherwise.

Comment from The Club:

Many thanks for leaving a review and we are sorry to hear that you do not feel Broomfield Farm is suitable for families. Further to your review the wardens have been in touch as they were very concerned about your comments and wanted to clear up any confusion.

They welcome families to the site and enjoy having children staying. Although the site is quiet and there are not as many facilities as you might find on other Club Sites, it’s in a superb countryside location, perfect for families to explore the area and discover nature, with plenty of fun family attractions nearby, and a great central green area where the wardens encourage children and families to play.

The wardens are sorry they had to approach you on this occasion. This is not something they normally have to do but as they received complaints from other members on the site on 2 separate nights, including from another family staying on site, because of the noise into the night, they needed to ensure you were aware. The complaints reported that it was later than 10pm so we are sorry if this was not the case.  We completely understand and appreciate families having fun together and this is something The Club and wardens encourage but we do ask that members are aware of others staying on site.

I hope this helps explain and we would like to again assure you that families are most welcome by the wardens and The Club at this site.

Peaceful Site

We have just spent four very pleasant days on a nice pitch in a picturesque site. There is a footpath running down one side of the site and this leads on to some worthwhile walks in the lovely East Sussex countryside. Thew site was quiet, and well kept. The wardens were very helpful when I found that my car battery was flat and had me going within minutes. We regard this as one of our favourites.

Gem of a site

Have just returned from a week at Broomfield. It is a peaceful site with good size pitches. Good walking from site. Had a fantastic meal at the Foresters Arms in East Hoathly...would definitely recommend. We intend to return here again.
