Handy for accessing great walks

The proximity to the bus stops make it very easy to get to some superb locations and find lovely walks for all abilities. I recommend the Camel Trail from Wadebridge and the coastal path from Tintagel. There are also pleasant walks in the village itself through the park or along the river. The only disappointment is to find the laundry room closed after 5 pm, which is the time you arrive back on site after a day out. Otherwise, highly recommanded.

Fab site and fab wardens

We came down here on 28th June at start of Scottish school holidays. A warm welcome from the wardens and we were lucky to site our van in one of our favourite pitches with a terrific view. Nothing was too much trouble for the wardens and when my father in law ended up in Truro hospital for 11 days they were very helpful. Love this site great for families, clean toilets and showers and washing facilities available too. Tennis court available for use as well. Good base for lots interesting places and good beaches. Thank you again to sue and rod clarke for all your help again. My father in law is doing much better now he is home.

Sloping away

We had an exciting start to our recent stay, arriving in a thunderstorm to no electricity. We were unable to level our van even with chocks so spent each night with our feet virtually higher than our heads and cupboards slamming shut when opened. When the power was restored we found that we were unable to access any BBC TV channels, which was frustrating as we couldn’t watch Wimbledon, also the signal kept breaking up. Checking with other caravaners showed that they had the same problem with their TV reception. The site wardens are friendly and helpful, and the toilet and shower block are adequate and clean. In order to find a decent supermarket you need to travel about 12 miles, and a similar distance to access 3G on a (Vodaphone) mobile phone. There is however an excellent fish and chip shop in Camelford.

Not just a stopover!

A lovely peaceful site just the job for those needing a nights stopover if you are going/returning from Hayle!  But this site is the perfect location for a visit to all those coastal villages - Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac and many more so stay a little longer on this very tidy peaceful site.  Toilet block maybe a little old fashioned but is very clean and has good showers.

A windy trip!

We probably picked the windiest days of the year and certainly felt it on this site. It was our wedding anniversary and the earth certainly moved for us both! Lovely site though. Quiet and peaceful in a lovely part of the country. Toilet block clean and warm, may be dated but absolutely fine. Although the bus stop is about 40 metres from site we were advised by the warden not to use it and had to walk about a mile to the museum to catch a bus. In the wind and rain on our return we were not amused to find others had obviously used the bus stop close to the site and were already warm and dry when we eventually got back. Will definitely return.

Great site golfers delight

Great site, well maintained, showers & toilets spotless, shop in camelford 5 minute drive from site supplies everything you need from beer to bqq stuff, tintagel & boscastle a short drive from site, excellent for walking and exploring this stunning part of cornwall. this is a must stay place if you visit cornwall, site access is very good, level pitches, with a friendly warden, who is always on hand to give any advice or information you require, dont forget your golf clubs, an excellent golf course approx half a mile down the road, to find site just head for bowood golf course.

excellent start

This site was our first ever caravan holiday. It was just right for us, quiet. The toilet block was very clean, very warm and spacious. It was just what we needed for our first time out and has encouraged us to do more as soon as possible. Thanks

Weather let it down

This is a pleasant but very basic site, the weather made it a very drab site but much better in the sunshine. The shower block is clean and well kept but very dated, the showers were not up to the normal caravan club standard. This is a quiet site but would not recommend if you have young children to entertain as there is nothing for them. The site is next to a wind farm so expect some high winds and tie that awning down and if you have a hardstand pitch take some industrial pegs as it is very rocky. It all seems negative but it really is a small and pleasant site albeit basic the wardens are friendly which is always a bonus.
