Arrived after the 5pm closing time to be met personally by the warden who opened up the office and checked us in---great friendly service and a warm welcome.A delightful site sheltered from the worst of the high winds by the walls on all four sides. Beautifully maintained grounds and clean facilities of the high standard one would expect of a club site.Plenty of resident wildlife to provide entertainment particularly the ducks and pheasants. Very quiet even though it was a weekend-fabulous for a relaxing break.
Great Place
We only live 15 miles away and have never stayed here before. Mainly because every weekend is booked up all year.
So as I has a few days off work I looked and they had vacancies so here I am.The drive-up the lane is narrow as stated so I would agree not to arrive too early. I had a very pleasant greeting. The site is very well laid out. Ducks and pheasants roam the site. I am here while the bad winds are forecast and find the site quite well sheltered too. Although I positioned my van so the awning is down wind of my van, this might not be possible if the site is busier. There is a gate from the site which takes you directly onto Chatsworth Estate. All in all it is very nice here. Oh and the internet works well too, I'm using my laptop as opposed to iPad etc.
No Cycling Allowed
In the details for this site, it states that Cycling is Now Allowed on in the Estate Grounds. This is a great change, as i thought it would be lovely to cycle in the grounds, as it has never been allowed up until now. I called the camp site office and they didn't really know anything about it. I called Chatsworth House, and they weren't sure if there had been any changes. After a few calls back from Chatsworth House, who were very helpful, they confirmed that nothing had changed and Cycling was only allowed along the main road up to the house and across the bridge towards the farm shop. I phoned the caravan club head office to inform them that their information was incorrect and they promised to change the information on the website and the information received when booking. I can now see that they haven't yet updated this. I know it is a bit anoraky, but if you are to bring 2 bikes, pump, helmets, puncture repair kits, etc, it adds quite a bit of weight to the motorhome payload, which is always limited. I just thought it worthwhile pointing this out, and hope this helps others. Apart from this, it is a fantastic site.

Great even with strong winds
Our first break of 2015 and first time at Chatsworth. Very quiet and loads of space. Despite the very high winds of the first two nights a great break.
On arrival wardens very friendly and informative. Plenty of pitches to choose from and facilities up to the high standards of the club, WIFI connection first rate and decent speed (maybe due to how quiet it was) We even managed to get two devices connected at same time!
Having access to Chatsworth through the door in the wall is superb. Even though the house and gardens closed the stable area open with decent shops and food. Good walk to Baslow which is lovely. This would give good transport links too. Dog walk clean whilst we were there, and we ensured we picked our dogs mess up. Will return at some point can see why it is so popular and booked up so often.
Appears a lot of tree pruning has been done, and the winds assisted in a little more but wardens good at clearing up at this tricky time of year.

First time visit
This was only our second outing in our motorhome and we loved the site. We found it very peaceful, with a very clean and well appointed shower block. The staff were very helpful and cheerful. Our only criticism - and this has no reflection on the site staff, only on some Caravan Club members - was that too many dog owners failed to pick up their dog's poo in the dog walking area, despite there being more than ample poo bins!
Chatsworth at Christmas
I stayed at Chatsworth Park between Christmas and New Year. There was a good layer of snow and the site was icy. The wardens did a great job in keeping the facilities open (despite two electricity cuts). Well done to a very cheerful and helpful team. The walks around Chatsworth and the house were magical and the snow made it even better!
New year stay
On arrival found the site very icy but only to be expected with the snow we where a little disappointed on new years eve that no one seemed to make an effort to celebrate it but never mind we still love chatsworth and we will still go back again happy new year campers

New Years Eve Stay.
Our first visit to Chatsworth C.C. Site and I can't see it being our last. The wardens were really friendly and we were invited for refreshments and nibbles at reception. The site is quiet, situated in what appears to be a "walled garden" with Chatsworth Estate accessed through a gate in the wall. The toilet/shower block is clean and modern looking.

Picturesque
Another great stay, although this time we didn't think there were as many lights and decorations! Snow fell the evening we arrived and as you would expect children came out to throw snowballs at each other. However one miserable git told them to stop and gave them 2 seconds to get out of the way!! There's always one!! Scrooge personified!! Although super pitch facilities were frozen we still managed to have a lovely time. Everywhere looked fantastic and the wardens did all they could under difficult circumstances. This is what winter caravanning is all about!!
Great Christmas
Chatsworth is a lovely site in a fantastic location. The facilities are some of the best we've seen (although some of the male caravanners could do with a little more toilet training.)
It was snowing , it was icy ,it was slippery - IT WAS WINTER IN THE PENNINES -it's what you expect.
Looking forward to going back again.
