Coast with the most

Beautiful site with a fantastic sandy bay. Lovely coastal walks especially around Dunnet head.  Ideal location for visiting Wick Thurso and John O Groats.  The moody beauty of the view of the sea from your caravan window is a sight to behold.  This is a site we would revisit.

A lovely peaceful site

Very much enjoyed this site for its views and situation. The facilities are good and the welcome friendly. Ideal for a tranquil break.

Love it here!

It's five years since we were last here and we weren't disappointed when we went back in September. We were again lucky enough to be pitched right next to the path to the beach (not sure I would fancy being near the road though). Just perfect here, and such a lovely area too. BUT Caravan Club why no WiFi? I understand it isn't 'worthwhile' because of the short opening season. Yes it is to the site users! Lovely wardens, spotless facilities, would definitely come back again.

Great Site for Couples

Stayed here in 2012 and again at the end of this year's season. Still a great site with good facilities maintained well. Lovely sandy bay immediately just off site. Fantastic area for coastal walking. Helpful friendly wardens. Site is sandwiched between main road and beach so some road noise but not obtrusive and noise from crashing waves is lovely. Look forward to returning in future. Apart from beach/bay things for kids is limited.

Glad We Stayed :)

Nice little spot , grass only pitches , only down side is the road that runs past it making it noisy at night, especially when people passing in cars beep there hooters as they drive past in the early hours of the morning !! Other than that a really lovely beach to walk the dogs on . Wardens friendly and approachable. Nice shower block and laundry , would visit again .

Love the herb box

When booking we were not told about the office specific opening hours time (09 - 11am and 4 - 6 pm). Good and very clean site, but only grass pitches available. The beach is great and very sandy. Loved this. We arrived in between these times and no access to toilets whatever. One needs to have a key to access these. You only get it after checking in. Luckly we had our caravan. Otherwise, very good facilities. Other downside to it,  is that it is always windy here and the noise of the road, as the site situated right by main road going between Thurso to John O'Groats.

Sept 2015 Dunnet head

Been here a couple of times and love this site. Really clean, good showers and magic beach for the dogs and us. Marvellous sunsets if the weather permits.

Well worth the visit!

We stayed here for 3 days and had contrasting weather which you notice as this is a exposed site but a great location next to the beach. The wind on the first day meant our inflatable awning nearly took the wife to the Orkneys! The next day sunny, calm and a lovely walk along the beach. Visit Castle Mey if you can only about 5 miles away. Castletown has a decent butchers/grocery shop rather than going into Thurso. The site is all grass pitches and pleased to have made the long drive.

Love the herbs !

Dunnet Bay is a very well-kept site, with excellent facilities - including a box of fresh herbs growing just outside for people to pick if they like. What a lovely touch. Toilets/showers beautifully warm, too. Only one small gripe - as the office was unmanned, we had to put our membership cards through a letter box, then wait 2 hours until someone was available. The toilets were locked, and we didn't know (being newbies) that you got a key once you'd paid. There was no notice to tell us that there might be alternative facilities elsewhere - fortunately we could use our caravan, but not everyone could do that. Otherwise fine, and would recommend.

Dog (and owner) approved:

Spectacular site with direct access to a wide sandy beach. Me 'n' Beauregard spent lots of time chasing a ball around the beach, and he (but not I) sampled the waters... Good access to the sights of Scotland's North coast and well worth the effort of getting there. Also got to see the Northern Lights finally.
