We booked this site as a stop off on our way to Dunnet Bay for two nights. However we were really disappointed in the site. We were placed in the yellow area and the caravans were packed on so tight that I am not sure if we wanted to put our awning up we could as there was not much space. Some parts of the site were spacious but not the bit we were in. The toilet block near us certainly didn't look great, it was old fashioned but very clean. It did not have underfloor heating like some reviews have said. The play park qas very noisy with children all day and til about 9pm. The bins were always overflowing too. The site did have positives in its location for many activities and things to do but there is a better site just outside Aviemore instead of a CCMH site. We won't be staying here again.
Simply the best
This is a fantastic all year round site, the site is perfectly maintained and the super pitches are genuinely ‘super’. Wi-fi was free and no drop out as was the TV satellite. Showers have underfloor heating which in the winter was a real treat, and extremely clean. Great location for walking and visiting the other towns in the Cairngorms.
This Park is a Winter wonderland
Grantown-on-spey caravan park gave us a great opportunity to take in 2020 over the new year period. This park is very centrally located within the highlands and a gem on the network. We received a great welcome from the wardens. Although out of the growing season it was evident a lot of upkeep and maintenance is lavished here. An excellent network of woodland walks extends from this park. The wifi is the strongest I have ever experienced on any park and allowed the kids to play their games without glitch no fiddling about with passwords. There are two shower blocks the upper one is closed in the winter months although we were advised it is undergoing renovations for 2020. The lower block was amazing with underfloor heating and spotlessly clean. All service points were modern and well maintained. The new year street party in Grantown was excellent and enjoyed by all. We enjoyed the hospitality shown to us so much we are booked again for easter.

Peace and Quiet???
I sit here in my campervan at this campsite at 9.30 in the morning having been up for nearly two hours. If I had wanted to be up this early on a Saturday morning I would have stayed at home. I am in the middle of a building site with excavators and lorries all around. This is an absolute joke. No warning, nothing! It is really lucky for the onwers that the site is almost empty.
On top of that, yesterday I went to the toilet block. It was locked. Three hours later it is still locked. As I was getting desperate I went to reception to ask when they would open. "Are they closed for cleaning?" I was asked. I said I didn't know, but they were locked and I was desperate for the toilet. 18 hours previous I was told that this was the only toilet block in use. "Oh we've closed that one now and opened the other one." I asked why I wasn't told this the previous night when I checked in and she said they only found out this morning. I asked why they didn't put a sign up then. I then went to my neighbour and asked him if he knew, he said yes he was told a couple of days ago. Hmmmm....
Feel free to refund me. Don't offer me a free night as I definitely wont be back here.

Curate's Egg
Good: Clean and attractive site. Showers and toilets excellent. Some nice walks straight from the site. Quiet while we were there. (apart from the warden zooming around in his buggy as he took new arrivals to their pitch) Wifi seemed good.
Bad: We booked for one night on a Super Pitch and were given probably the smallest pitch even though there were others empty. It was also in the shade of some tall trees, and this on the first sunny day in several wet ones.
The washing up facilities consisted of 2 sinks and lukewarm water, which soon turned cold.
Not really good enough for the price.
Highland Excellence
Just had a 14 night stay at this site. Wardens very helpful and friendly. We had a super pitch with excellent views of Cairngorm mountain. All facilities spotless, Wifi very good.
There are some very good small shops in Grantown with items not found elsewhere.
Would highly recommend this site to anyone touring in the highlands.

Overpriced
The wardens were very friendly and helpful and the site was nice and peaceful - but -
I booked a standard size hardstanding pitch for a small motorhome and utility tent which we was told would be adequate, however when we tried to pitch up the pitch was barely big enough for my SMALL motorhome and wouldn't have been able to put the small tent up - after complaining we were moved to a grass pitch which although gave us more room I didn't really want to be on grass. Also, the shower block on the upper level only had 3 toilets and showers - this is not satisfactory for 31.25 per night. The TV was absolutely useless as was the free wifi - for these prices I would expect a proper size pitch, proper facilities and better tv reception. You're paying CMC prices but not getting the same standard.
First time Caravanners!
We bought our first caravan in January and were eager to try it out! Having previously been away in our 1974 VW Campervan, this was to be a different experience.
Grantown on Spey Caravan Site is great! We arrived 7.30pm and although reception was closed, there was someone waiting to show us to our pitch and handover our FreeSat box.
What a bonus having great WIFI too.
Shower Block was spotless. We were in at various times during the day/evening and it was always clean. Lovely and cosy too with underfloor heating.
A very short walk into town, with our 6 year old boy, was great as meant we could have a glass of wine with our meal. Also a short walk to the swimming pool.
We will most definitely be back to this caravan site, hopefully with the sun this time, rather than the snow in March :-) We did not go prepared for snow :-(
The staff on site were also very friendly. We look forward to returning again sometime this year.
Fantastic site with friendly conscientious wardens
We had three weeks at Grantown in January and what a great site. From the moment we arrived the wardens were very friendly and made us feel welcome. We were allowed to change our allocated pitch, we only changed as I preferred the view. We were escorted to our pitch and made sure we were settled in. We had a lot of snow during our stay which was what we'd gone for being big kids and even though the site was very quiet the wardens still ensured the high standards on site were maintained and were often on site outside their normal hours clearing snow from the access roads and salting round the amenity block.
The village just a few minutes walk away has everything you could need during your stay. There are plenty of tearooms but unluckily for us the only tearoom which accepted dogs was closed for the whole of January, such is life. There are lots of walks for all abilities and all in all a great pace to visit. We will definitely be back probably not at peak season though. Thank you Grantown on Spey for a lovely holiday.

Great location - tranquil & quiet - friendly staff.
Having read the previous reviews on this site we were a little concerned that it was not all that it was made out to be. Nothing could have been further from the truth. It is truly a wonderful place to stay. Our only mistake is that we didn’t stay much longer. We had 5 nights here at the end of August and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The site is well laid out, has generous fully serviced pitches. The toilets, washing and shower facilities were immaculate, with underfloor heating as well. An added bonus there was good WiFi reception and it was free!!!
The staff were very friendly whenever we met them, and helpful whenever we needed them. The site is a comfortable easy walk into Grantown on Spey where there is a selection of local shops, cafes and bars together with a good Coop supermarket.
A local iconic pub is the Craig Bar which is highly recommended for its welcoming atmosphere and wholesome pies. If you like fine dining and a la carte menus don’t go there - pie and chips is the only option - 8 varieties plus 3 veggie options - like it or leave it. We loved it and will return when next in the area.
Great base to visit the Cairngorms, Moray Coast, Inverness & beyond. This will be a must stay place when we next come to the highlands - fantastic and highly recommended.
