Excellent site.

We have just stayed on this site for 15 nights. What a superb site. It is spotless the grounds are kept to an excellent standard. The wardens work extremely hard to maintain the standards and are friendly. The location is great for visiting areas such as Dartmouth, which is a wonderful place. We shall certainly be visiting this site again. Thank you.

A Wonderful Holiday

Have just returned from 2 weeks at Hillhead and I am so impressed with the site, it is lovely we where there at the hottest time of this year so far, but I think even in winter this would be a great site to be on, the facilities are fantastic and the wardens are all so helpful. Will definitely be coming back next year with the Grandkids this time as they will love it, especially the Pool and Games Room. Did have a couple of drinks in the bar, but didn't get a chance to have a meal, but will next time.

Great site

Stayed here for three night and was well impressed with the facility's great pool and clubhouse. Pool water was nice and warm the staff were very friendly. The shop on site was great lots of choice in the food department reasonably priced.allso plenty of  things for caravans or motorhomes.love how the pitches are separated by hedges also had a nice view of the sea shower blocks and  toilets were spotless. There was a bus stop outside the gate  which took us to Brixham allso kingswear then  the ferry over to Dartmouth will be visiting her again in the near future

Hillhead Hard Standing Pitches

We recently spent a few nights on this site.  We hadn't visited the site before.   On arrival we were allocated our pitch ( we had no choice, as there was only one empty HS pitch free).  The pitch was not deep enough for us to be able to place the (single axle) van in the usual "peg to the rear off-side of the van" position, as the draw bar would have obstructed the road.  We therefore placed the van across the rear of the pitch.  The adjacent pitch also had a van pitched in the same orientation as ours (for presumably the same reason) and as consequence there was not a decent distance between the two vans. IMHO, I think it is disappointing the the Club should allocate a pitch to a member knowing that it is of inadequate size and that the Club should, by allocating such pitches, seemingly flout their own "minimum distance between outfits rule". IMHO rather a disappointing experience.

Top site

Can't rate this site highly enough, it's got it all. Friendly staff, Chris and Tina are fantastic wardens, everything is so clean, the team never stop working, cutting hedges, mowing lawns cleaning the loos, and there's plenty of them, the loos I mean! And the shop, what can I say! Jayne and Pauline are a delight, they have a very well stocked shop, friendly smiles, washing line competitions! And lovely hot croissants every day. It's a great site for everyone with a good bar, food and entertainment, can't fault it. It's what you want to make of it. Enjoy! From Carol Mike And Poppi dog.

Nice Site

A nice site in a generally good location to be able to get out and about without using the Motorhome. Good bus links outside the site with lovely friendly drivers, and easy walks to Brixham/Dartmouth/beach. Stunning views from some pitches. It was busy when I arrived and I was quite abruptly (in my opinion) told that there wasn't much choice of pitch. The lady warden asked how big my Motorhome was 20feet, deep sigh.....we'll you will need to park up near the play area and walk around and have a look. "Are you putting an awning up?" "Yes" I replied.... Another deep sigh " oh , I wouldn't have thought you would have an awning being on your own"!! Lone travellers shouldn't have an awning then ?!! Anyway, as I was strolling around finding a pitch a very nice chap on a mower tipped me the wink that 88 was nice if I had levelling blocks so off I went and was pleased with the pitch. As other reviews mention, there does seem to be some sort of 'reservation' scheme going on with some pitches. Not the friendliest feeling site I have been on but it was clean and suited my needs

First time. Definitely not the last.

In a motorhome. Booked in for 5 nights but extended it to 7. Without a doubt a gem of the CC sites. Lots of pitches with fantastic sea views but also open to the wind. We rented a car from Enterprise at a very reasonable rate over the weekend including pick up. Lots of beautiful places to visit within 15-20 miles. Dartmouth still our favourite. Yes it's on a hill, yes there are lots of terraced pitches, yes the wardens work hard cutting the grass and hedges which makes noise. So what. It's beautifully maintained with a bar, pool restaurant and stunning views. Top that.

Superb site

Just spent 5 nights at the site. The site was practically fully booked all of the time but the site was still quiet. No queues at very clean toilets and showers. Shop is stocked with essential items. Restuarant where you can eat in to takeaway. Bar with evening entertainment. Swimming pool with water temperature that resembles a warm bath. Easy access to site. Staff are friendly and helpful and can be seen daily maintaining the site to a very high standard. We look forward to visiting again.
