perfect for a peaceful break

It was our first time at this site on Saturday 2nd may, although we only stayed one night we could not fault it. Very friendly staff, very clean park and facilities. Perfect for a peaceful break.  We will be back.

Stunning site.

This was our first time at this site and we were not disappointed. It is very well laid out along the riverside and the pitches are of a generous size. Within easy walking distance of the town of Killin and all its facilities (nearest newsagent only 5 mins away). The views from the site are typical of the Scottish Highlands and are to die for. We were fortunate (or unfortunate depending on your thoughts) to be there when it was snowing (mid April) and to see the mountains at the back of the site change to white was fantastic. There is free fishing from the site, but the river is very deep and fast and there are only a couple of decent spots to cast a line from due to too much tree growth so be careful. For dog owners, there is no dog walk on site, but just 50 yards out of the site to the left and over the bridge and you have all the space you could need. The locals use the field (when no cattle are present) just over the bridge or you can go on for a few hundred yards and find the old railway track. One way takes you into Killin and the other way takes you to the shores of Loch Tay and beyond. A perfectly placed site to use a base to explore the Southern Highlands and surrounding area. We'll certainly be back.

A favourite site

Maragowan was the first site we visited when we bought a van and restarted caravanning a couple of years ago. This trip simply confirmed it as a really pleasant and comfortable site. The site is really well situated conveniently close to Killin, and the shops are within walking distance. As well as Co-op and Newsagent there is also a good selection of restaurants and hotels and guest houses, together with a useful hardware shop, and a fish and chip van, as well as other shops. The site facilities are good, the toilet block super clean (although the floor is tired) and the reception shop has a small but useful selection of things you might need. The only problem encountered is the inability of many site users to know what 5mph means. Altogether a very nice place to spend time in a lovely scenic area. Recommended!

Lovely site!

We used this campsite for our first ever night in our motorhome and had such fond memories we came back this year. And we were not disappointed, the wardens are friendly and helpful and the facilities are very good. Despite the site being almost full on Easter Sunday it didn't seem too busy and the pitches are quite generous. The scenery is amazing! We have 2 dogs and the walk at the side of the site is excellent and we walked into Killin and then to the Falls of Dochart and a much needed pint at the Inn. The hotel opposite the site is a handy place for dinner. I think the only criticism of Maragowan is that the clean water taps are both on the wrong side for our van, in a one way system, which meant we had to turn the van around and reverse the wrong way. We felt very guilty but when I mentioned it at reception I was told that is what we were expected to do. We'll be back before too long, it's a great site.

Wonderful Scenery Noisy Neighbours

A brilliant location nestled between mountains and local amenities nearby. Toilets are a little tired and we didn't fancy using them. It may be because it was a Bank Holiday but the noise from our neighbours went on until 4am, so we were disappointed.  Good walk to local Loch Tay is worthwhile.

Has to be my favourite caravan club site

With the best you can ask for in views, this site may have 99 pitches but you certainly don't know it. It's peacefull, exceptionally clean and the staff are just brilliant. Anne and Brent are very dedicated. With close by amenities in killin itself you can relax by your van or enjoy the many eating establishments it has to offer. Has to be my favourite!

Excellent site

This was our first visit to the site, indeed our first ever trip with our first ever caravan. We had a few technical issues with the electric & gas but the extremely kind wardens helped us out. The reception ladies were very helpful and welcoming, with regards to setting up, finiding a pitch, wlaking the dogs, etc, etc. The site is very clean and tidy, with security folks patroling at night. Great location and views of the mountains. Thanks to all on site for helping us out on our first ever caravan trip, we will come back again.

GREAT CARAVAN / MOTORHOME PARK

Stayed for 2 nights on this very well run caravan club site.Great location with the village only a ten to 15 minute walk.A few nice shops and a number of great places to eat or have a drink. The site is well laid out and has the bonus of free river fishing on site.Quiet and peaceful and top marks to the staff who work so hard to make it what it is.We most certainly will be back again.
