Beautiful Site

Just spent 16 nights here and found this site excellent. It was so quiet and peaceful. The wardens were fun and hard working. The site is slightly on a slope but all pitches are level. Grass pitches not open yet but still look enticing. Toilet block is a tad on the small size considering the site size, though our van was used mostly. Dog walk area is huge and enclosed, could do with a few more poo bins around for those accidents on the way to the field. A chip van comes on Fridays, though we enjoy our own catering. The local beach is approx. 25 minutes walk away and again, this time of year is really quiet. Sea foods and home made food can be bought on the way back. The main road can get busy and the traffic lights do not have sensors just a timed sequence on about a minute cycle. Lots of places of interest to visit near by, though we did visit Truro a lot about 12 miles away, for necessary shopping.

Wonderful Rest

Having read some of the reviews previously posted about the pitches etc. we were unsure about this site. We can only assume these reviewers have got confused with another site! It was wonderful. The wardens were welcoming and we could engage in a bit of banter the moment we arrived. They were always on hand if required but kept a low profile (unlike a couple of Derbyshire sites we visited last year) and kept the site immaculate from the toilet blocks to the well spaced, ample sized pitches. We too suffered the wrath of the traffic lights which always seemed to go red as we approached but we were on holiday so who cares? There are beautiful scenic walks around the Roseland to be taken and with St. Mawes on your doorstep and the lovely harbour at Mevagissey only 30 mins away as well as Looe and Falmouth there's plenty to enjoy. If you want peace and quiet this site is ideal- school summer holidays might be a bit livelier but our 10 days over Easter was perfect. Many thanks to Mike, Mandy, Bill & Carole.

Easter Break

Friendly welcome from wardens. there if needed, but not inposing. Washrooms spotless. Good chippy van on Friday night, portions very large. Well maintained site and idealy placed to explore the Roseland. Good dog exercise area, ideal for early walks . We use both club sites and Cls, not sure if we would visit this site in hieght of season, would be too busy for us. But we will return late season.

Easter Break

We have been regular visitors to this site ever since we started caravanning, having previously been regular B&B users in the area for 20 years before that. It is without doubt one of our favourite sites - immaculately clean and well-kept by Mike and Mandy (who have been wardens here for several years - it's always nice to see a familiar face!) and their assistants, Bill and Carole, the site is well-placed to take advantage of what must be some of the most attractive countryside in Cornwall. The loo blocks are spotless, the pitches large and well-spaced, very clearly well tended, and the relatively sheltered position (down a single-lane access track controlled by traffic lights) means tranquil days and some astonishingly starlit nights. Just over the road at the top of the site is access to the Rosevine - at the end of which is a beach that might have been purpose built for a family holiday - flat sands, shallow, crystal clear waters, and the "Hidden Hut" - not so hidden now, unfortunately, since Caroline Quentin told the world about it! - dispensing excellent food and drinks during the season, and also providing the all-important necessity for a whole day at the beach - loos! St Mawes, five miles away, is a peach (a pint sitting in the sun on the terrace at the Rising Sun is a must), and the King Harry Ferry takes you across to Trellissick House and Gardens (NT) and places beyond in 10 minutes, saving a long trip via Truro to the other side of the river. On this trip we have been to Mevagissey, a classic Cornish fishing port, Godolphin House (NT) and Trengwainton Gardens (NT) - both lovely - and on prior trips we've also visited the Lost Gardens at Heligan (the joke that "they've obviously found them again" is wearing thin with my wife), and Portloe, another pretty fishing village. Further afield, Sennen Cove and Kynance Cove, plus the whole Helford area, are unique and lovely places to visit. St Ives is popular - very - use the train from Hayle rather than try and park in the town. Gripes? only two - having waved our arms about like idiots in the Information Shed for 5 minutes trying to make the lights come on, we later discovered they're operated by a light switch (delightfully quaint!) - and those traffic lights, which conspire to turn red whenever we approach them - particularly when trying to make sure we catch the 9.30am King Harry Ferry. I joke, of course! - if you've not been here before, you're in for a treat - and if you have, you're lucky enough to know why.

Easter Bank Holiday break

My family and I have just returned from three brilliant fun filled days in Cornwall, the site is perfectly placed to see Cornwall we visited Lands end, St Michaels Mount, St Mawes, Looe, as well as enjoying the Easter egg hunt at the Lost gardens of Heligan. all with in easy reach from the site. The site is very very clean and well maintained as you would expect from a club site, The site has good access, with a traffic light system to avoid any problems down the narrow lane to the site entrance, also thank you to the wardens for letting us in early as the site was not full, we travelled threw the night to avoid traffic and arrived a little early.

first yearly visit

Superb location we love it here. Good walking peaceful and well organised. Please fix/replace the tap at the motorhome sp. Its wrapped up in gaffer tape and gives both the van and me a shower when used. I think its been like that for around 12 months and probably fails water supply regulations. Otherwise brilliant
