A Great Time Away

This is a large site with plenty of space, well set out and adjacent to the beach. The facilities were well maintained, clean and the showers were hot and no push button nonsense! The site staff were helpful, friendly and very accommodating. There are loads of walks in the area and it is a very dog friendly place. It’s definitely worth visiting the Mull of Galloway and Portpatrick. The site is remote and you’ll need to visit Stranraer for fuel and food shops etc. The Ship Inn in Drummore is a lovely small pub, dog friendly and 5 minutes away by car. As always on the west coast of Scotland the weather can be wild at times although we got a fair amount of sunshine which always helps.

new wardens

We've been going to new England bay for over 12 years and it was great to see 4 new and helpful wardens .the past two seasons weren't good times for us at the site with two of the previous wardens un helpful and just rude. as we didn't know their would be new wardens we thought we may go else where, so we were so please to find Sean and Ali lovely and helpful. Sorry never got the names of the other two wardens but lovely and helpful. Ever where was mush cleaner and starting to look like it use to be. keeping the games room locked is a good rule as unsupervised kids had been breaking stuff. starting the shop up again was great when they get fresh milk and ice-cream then it will be great.looking forward to our next time as we can go twice a year now theirs nice wardens. All in all a great place and a good time had by all, three dogs and one wife . (wife court one fish). keep up the good work guys.

The best wardens ever!

This was our third visit to New England Bay. We needed to amend our stay to add extra days. The wardens went over and above what they needed to do in order to assist us. Such great people. Most wardens on most sites are very helpful, but this was different. Well done guys, hopefully see you again next year.

Peace and quiet in a superb location

Just spent a few days here. Great location and plenty of choice of pitches. Wardens very welcoming on arrival. Toilets and showers were lovely and warm and spotlessly clean. The views from the site over the yellow flowering gorse to the sea are amazing. A morning walk on the beach is only 100 yds away. New club WiFi working well and mobile phone signals strong on EE and Vodafone. If you are wanting peace and quiet, beautiful views, a beach and good facilities, this is the place.

Great location, clean and friendly.

Stayed March '24. Friendly and helpful wardens. Showers are the cleanest and warmest I've experienced on any site. Pitch areas offer good choices for all tastes and requirements with easy access to service points. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Lovely welcome, brilliant site

We received a lovely warm and friendly welcome and immediately felt comfortable. Great site and what a location! It wasn't busy when we were there and we only had time in our schedule for the one night, but managed to get down to the beach to see the sun setting and then rising in the morning. Hope we get to come back some time.

Fantastic site

Fantastic site which is wild and remote and if you want peace and quiet then this is absolutely perfect. The staff on site are very helpful and friendly and offered advice on arrival of where to pitch as Storm Agnes was approaching and we took the advice and had a great sheltered and quiet pitch. The staff were very knowledgeable and informative and nothing was any trouble to them. We had a fantastic time with walks along the beach and time out visiting the lighthouse and nearby botanical gardens and lots of nice beaches where we saw seals and birds. We would like to thank the staff at would hope to return some time

5 * plus Assistant Wardens -Martin and Julie Ewart

On arriving I had an accident, hurting my shoulder and arm. Julie saw to me and informed me to call 111. After speaking to 111 i was told to get to Stranraer A and E. Though i am sure it is not in their remit Martin drove me to the hospital made sure i was seen too and informed me to give him a call so he would return and collect me, which he did, also refusing my offer of fuel money etc. I was xrayed and found to have broken my clavicle, and informed not to drive for at least 6 weeks. Both Martin and Julie have continued to support, sorting out paper work etc for all our onward bookings extending our stay and offering to obtain goods etc while we wait for a friend to arrive to drive us back south and home. We could not have managed without Martin and Julie’s help and kindness, we are so appreciative and thankful to them They are to my wife and I, a wonderful friendly couple and a great advert to our club and the club should be very glad to have such a friendly , professional and dedicated couple working for the club. A hidden gem!!!

This site is perfect if you like peace and quiet. Great walks and very child/dog safe. Beach is on site too! Staff are extremely helpful.facilities block( only one just now) spotless. About 6 miles to a shop or post office...Sandhead shop shuts at 6....Drummore at 5. Both are post offices. Nearest fuel/gas is Stranraer. Very hard ground so you will be best with rock pegs for your awning. Dont forget the storm straps!!!! Free Wi fi has just been upgraded and works really well. Great place for all water sports. Plenty places to launch a boat too. Port Logan is lovely. All in all the team couldnt have been more helpful. Im going again SOON !!!!
