Excellent site

We have recently spent two nights here and we were lucky enough to be allocated a pitch right next to the beach. We were at the furthest extreme of the site, this suited us as we don’t use the facilities and it was a lovely quiet plot. The views are outstanding and there is easy access to the beach. On arrival the friendly and informative warden shows you to your pitch and answers any queries you may have. Considering it is such a big site, it is very peaceful and we would certainly recommend it.

Wonderful place to stay

Spent 6 nights here with husband ( paddle boarder) son ( kayaker) and 2 dogs (paddlers). Asked for a front pitch and was delighted to get one. Was rather windy at times but worth it for the views. Despite the site being full it didn't appear to be overcrowded and there was plenty of room for all. Spent a while wandering around the site and it appeared hat the views were great from just about everywhere. Staff and wardens were very friendly and helpful. Toilet and washing facilities were adequate and never full. Great place to swim, paddle board, kayak. Wonderful views of Mull and surrounding areas. Note a comment about only caravans in front rows, think this may well be to do with length of pitches. Definitely recommend this site and will definitely return.

A site with an amazing view!

We stayed here for a week - that was the best decision ever. Yes we were there during a heatwave and the best weather since 1976 but it's a great place to visit. Our boys (12 & 10) absolutely loved fishing and swimming in the sea/loch, so did our black Labrador. We usually holiday in France in the summer however we spent days on the beach here at all times of day - it felt like being abroad. Great for watersports and cycling. We were 3 rows back from the front but still had amazing views - including some of the best sunsets we've ever seen. The shop is extremely well stocked and reasonably priced - our boys said that Val is a legend. The only negative would be the distance to the toilet blocks - really there aren't enough of them for what would be expected on a Caravan Club site. However, it didn't spoil our holiday, we put the toilet in the car to drive to empty it. Would definitely return - but would be expecting a heatwave again!

Lovely site

Been here several times over the last 25 years and have always been impressed with the views, location and facilities. So much to do straight from the site, particularly if you have cycles. Views are stunning and facilities clean and well looked after. Our only gripe was that we booked via their own site Web page nearly 8 months previously. Having just experienced two parental bereavement, one through Covid, this was the start of a restorative holiday and so we asked for the airfield end (yes, it is quiet there). We weren't expecting front pitches as they book a year in advance. We were disappointingly placed near the toilet block. The geography of the site means quite a few people drive to the toilet block, so we had passing traffic from early to late. We asked for a change on arrival but that wasn't possible. The moral of the story, if you book direct and fill in their 'any requests' box, they will pay little attention to it and won't be that interested if you're disappointed. Beyond that, a site we would recommend.

Glorious week

Just had a fabulous week here. Weather was amazing and site fantastic. Toilet blocks very good and clean and whilst the COVID restrictions are frustrating Most people stick to the system they use. Pitches all (as far as I can tell) have views of the sea and out to Mull, fresh and waste water stations are at very regular spots so you don't have far to walk, beach, whilst stony is spotless and the sea is gorgeously clean. Easy to get to all the local attractions. Staff very helpful and cheery.

Beautiful location stunning views

We stayed 3 nights on a pitch at the seafront, as far from the facilities block as it is possible to be. Simply stunning views of the bay and western isles - and it was very peaceful. We were not able to make any preference of pitch, so we were fortunate. Facilities block was a few minutes walk away, but we didn't find that too difficult - we had bikes if we needed to use the block (clean and controlled by a covid "band" system) or shop (which is well stocked). The only downside was that the hand sanitiser ran out at the facilities block and wasn't replenished very quickly.

One to avoid

A discount should be offered to all MoHo owners who use this site, as they are obviously 2nd class citizens. We had requested beach front. When I was phoned for my payment the day before arrival- I was told that we did have a beach front. When we arrived they tried to put us right up the back, next to the office and the busy main road! Further discussion led to us being shifted 2 rows down. Two other MoHo owners, we discovered had also been lied to. The site has close to 280 caverns and Moho's cramped together-not the idyllic views the website portrays. Noticed when we went for a walk that the first 4 rows all had caravans in them- no MoHo's, who were all stuck at the back. Shower/toilet block outdated and could do with a clean. Won't be back- one to avoid.

Disappointing!

According to the club information this site is listed as having 120 pitches when in actual fact it has 248 - admittedly some of these are seasonal but it still creates a very large site. The problem with that is the toilet block is at one end of the site and therefore if you are pitched at the far end (you are not given a choice of where to pitch) it takes five minutes to walk to the toilet block and is in fact a half mile round trip! You also have to do the same walk to empty your toilet if you are using your own facilities. The fact that there is a car park at the toilet block reflects this distance and because of this there is a constant stream of cars driving around the site. Facilities are jaded and no soap or sanitiser in the toilet blocks is not acceptable in these COVID times. Yes, the views are lovely but the standards are not!

Great location but needs some attention to detail

The location cannot be faulted with lovely views. The pitches could do with checking as the weeds are popping up on them. The toilets in all my time there had no soap or sanitiser. We stayed 5 days in all. The bins are a long way from some pitches as is chemical point. Grey waste point has to be lifted over a concrete lip so you need to be strong to achieve that. As I said, location brings this sight way up on the star rating. The site is only 10 amps but I found no problems with that

Beware

Booked for a week mid May 2021. The Club handbook is misleading , it states 120 touring. There must be at least 300+pitches on this enormous site. No choice of pitch, it was allocated by the site management without any conversation on preferences. The geography of the site is a long strip of land along seashore .The toilet/shower blocks(2 off) are both close to one end . It was a 5min walk(1080 fitbit steps) from our pitch to the facilities. The shower block were cold and draughty, beyond reasonable covid level ventilation. The shower water was tepid at best .Nowhere near normal club standards. However the views from the pitch were wonderful. So its a balance. I will not return.
