A gem of a site

What a fantastic site. On arrival we were warmly greeted by Jo the warden and filled in on how to pitch and the local area. We had a service pitch so we did not visit the facilities but if they were as well looked after as the rest of the site I’m sure they were great. The wardens on this site do a fantastic job of keeping it tidy. It is a very quiet site located next to an amazing nature reserve where you will not be disappointed with the wild life the site also has a great dog walk a mini reserve init self. I can’t say if the site is suitable for children as we don’t have any and there was none on site when we stayed but one thing to bear in mind if you do have children is that there is no playground but the area has so much to offer you are within easy distance of the coast and NT sites. And nature is on the door step. On Monday’s a fish and chip van comes to site it’s £10 per portion but it’s a good size and lovely. We will definitely visit again and thank you to Jo and Craig for a lovely well kept site it’s a credit to the club

Beautiful quiet site

First stay at Breamish after caravanning for the first time in ten years. A power cut when we arrived was a bit challenging but the wardens were really helpful. Beautiful site with excellent dog walk. Toilet block was immaculate and a decent size with a ‘spare’ toilet outside while the main was closed for cleaning. Ideal if you want a quiet away from it all rest.

AMAZING CAMPSITE

Stayed 4 nights from 14 May 24, welcomed by Jo on arrival who was very friendly. The site spaces are a great size, plenty space between each other. We used the toilet/showering & dish washing areas, they were always immaculate. The surrounding areas are beautiful, plenty places to visit and campsite was a perfect base. Everyone that we spoke to staying on the site had the same positive comments about this lovely site. We will definitely return. The stand in wardens Gordon & Chris were very helpful & friendly to.

Wonderful weekend stay

I can fully agree with the previous review (Terrytintop). Craig and Jo are outstanding wardens. Welcoming, dedicated, hard working, with lovely dispositions. The site and facilities are immaculate. Well done and thank you. The walks from the site....are excellent. East Hill to Ingram by various routes never disappoint. Pow urn to Titlington Pike and return via Beanley is a treat. We are already planning our return later in the summer ( hopefully we will have a summer this year).

Brilliant Managers and helpful

Craig and Jo the managers are one of the best teams we have come across in many years of caravaning. Also the Relief managers of Gordon and Chris are equally good. The site is magnificently kept and manicured. The site is very peaceful and next to a nature reserve and with excellent dog walking straight out of the site. A Fish and Chip van arrives every Monday teatime with deliciously cooked fish (Craig please note I will send you the YOM!! for the cost of the fish!!). Such a jovial pair of managers indeed. We first met Craig and Jo when at Brora some years ago, where they were on their week off and where Gordon and Chris were the Managers, and so layed back and helpful. Craig welcomes us with his usual dry sense of humour and Gordon is no better. We had a service pitch this time and Jo even came over on the morning we were leaving to say "cheerio" and hopes to see us later in the year. So good managers; good site; pleasant quiet surroundings and in beautiful dog walking countryside with one or two very good pubs for evening meals. Only one small growl..... the club need to get direct TV points installed as the reception is not the best and this would make the whole time amazing.

Great site.

Been here before a few years ago, spent 5 nights here this time. Very happy with River Breamish overall, great chip van on Monday night, good size portion for the price. Everything all good,we had a great choice of pitches as it was early October. Nice hot showers and heated toilet block. WiFi was handy too.

Lovely site

Lovely site. Staff really friendly and helpful. Not quite full but plenty of space between units. Very quiet. Tidy and well kept. Super dog walk through woods around a pond but a longer one near the campsite at Branton Ponds. Toilets are warm and very clean. Absolutely perfect! Not a lot of choice to eat out nearby which is fine for us.

First time to Northumberland

I booked this site as a solo Campervanner with dogs, as being well placed to visit some of the highlights of Northumberland, including walking opportunities for the dogs. My stay was for 5 nights (originally 6 until Storm Agnes got in the way). Have to say I wasn’t disappointed at all with my choice, apart from needing longer to see what Northumberland has to offer. Arrival was easy, relaxed and very friendly and welcoming from Jo. Unfortunately, the following day her and hubby were on holiday. However, unlike a previous reviewer, I have nothing but praise for Kath (spelt with a K) and Rob - friendly, chatty, great advice on many aspects of exploring the area. Well done both, keep on doing what you are doing. The site is layed out with small areas of pitches around a circular road around the site. I felt it actually gave a friendly atmosphere. So much to see and explore - Bamburgh (stunning), Seahouses (a vibrant small seaside village), Cragside (outstanding) and so on. Back on the main road you will find a Petrol Station (reasonable priced fuel) plus an included Londis small supermarket which has a remarkable amount of stock considering where it is located. On Kaths recommendation I took advantage of the visiting fish & chip van on Monday evening. Absolutely outstanding fish & chips. Being on my own now what I hate is the humongous pieces of battered fish some places serve up - it’s wasteful. However, this fish & chip Van served up a perfect size along with the right amount of chips. 10 out of 10. You won’t be disappointed. Northumberland is a stunning county in many respects and I look forward to another visit next year to continue my exploring of the county.

Great location

We stayed here for 9 nights from 5/9/23. Our first impression was fab location spoiled by initial contact with relief wardens Roy and Cath. Roy ordered us to stay in the car, then as we pulled forward to the head of the queue he commanded that only one of us should book in. My husband did so and was given a prolonged lecture on the 5mph speed limit. We have been members of the CC for 27 years and have never ever been subjected to such an unfriendly and dictatorial greeting. On day 2 we were getting ready to go out when Cath barked at me asking was it our airer sited behind the caravan, one leg on the hard stand and 2 legs 10" onto the 1m grass betwixt rear of pitch and hedge. I said it was and she told me to get it moved off the grass. Very rarely throughout my 70 years have I ever been spoken to in such an aggressive manner and never by CC wardens. We may have got it wrong but there are more pleasant & professional ways to be reprimanded. All I can say is thank goodness the permanent wardens Jo & Craig returned from holidays, the atmosphere changed totally. They were extremely hard working and never without a smile and friendly greeting when passing by. They were a delight and made the end of our stay a pleasurable experience. Had the relief wardens been there for our entire stay I would have awarded the site only 1 star!!
