Site is only 3-miles from motorway. Roads from the motorway to the site are OK and the site access is easy.
Reception closed from 12:00 to 13:00. Friendly welcome.
The on-site shop and restaurant are not open at this time of year.
The pitch we were allocated (pitch 29) was a good size, but had been heavily used and was quite muddy.
The water to all the pitches had been turned off the the winter, but 10A electricity and drainage was available.
One unisex washroom was open with toilets and showers. Although showing its age it was warm(ish) and clean.
The outside CDP was pretty disgusting, and if you're planning on leaving in the dark, which we were, make sure you have a head torch as the lighting in that area is very poor.
There is a Super U hypermarket and petrol station less than a mile away, which was really handy.
This is a site that I would say is ideal as an overnight stopover, but not for an extended stay.
Has potential
The site overlooks the Futuroscope site which unfortunately had a concert on the night we stayed where the sound travelled and kept us awake until 0100hrs. Bear in mind the gates are locked overnight so the earliest you can leave is 0800hrs.
On site restaurant was closed as it was low season (early June) so we ate in the nearby village which you can walk to. Shower block was ok but needed a good clean. Pitch was also exposed on 2 sides with tree roots making banging tent pegs in tricky.
Site did have a pool but didn’t look inviting and a separate pool with a slide was empty of water.
We used the site as a last stop before travelling home so can’t comment on nearby attractions. The site has potential but just needs a bit of TLC.
