The cheapest car in this year's competition, the Škoda Fabia
Sport lags behind more modern designs. Its engine feels unrefined
and runs out of puff when others would be steaming ahead, and
though the car seems well put together it is all a bit bland.
A poor handbrake didn't help and neither does the 50kg
noseweight limit - though judges weren't too critical of the car's
stability. Space for only half of our caravanning load and has no
caravan indicator bulb failure warning whatsoever. Best in class
for running costs, though.
