Outfit matching is the term used to
describe whether a particular car and caravan are suitable for use
together. It is vitally important to check this before towing any
caravan for the first time, and sensible to do so before purchasing
a new or replacement car or caravan. By doing so, you should be
able to ensure that your outfit is safe, legal and comfortable to
tow.
Outfit matching is not, in principle, a complex process.
However, finding the relevant technical details (even for a vehicle
you already own) can be challenging, some of the terminology used
may be unfamiliar, and interpreting the results of the simple
calculations we use to evaluate a given combination can be awkward
if you haven't done this before or for a while.
To address these issues, we offer two options to make this
process easier.
Online outfit matching service
Available for free to Club members only, this service allows you
to research a future purchase or just experiment with different
options.

If you have any questions about this online service, please
take a look at our outfit matching help page, which
provides extensive help on how to interpret the results and get the
best from the system.
Telephone outfit matching service
Also available for free, this service is open to Club members
via a dedicated phone number. You will receive help and advice from
an experienced Information Officer. This service is available from
Monday to Friday, between 9:00am and 5:30pm. At busy times, we may
have to restrict the number of options we can discuss with you to
avoid undue delays for other members, so it's best it you have a
shortlist of no more than three models to consider.
Please have the following details of the car and caravan you
want compared to hand:
