Our Lightweight Leisure Trailer Awards are an annual competition for caravans and trailer tents where manufacturers are invited to submit their tourers for fair and independent evaluation.

The trailers are judged on their ease of setting up on site, available living area when set up, kitchen equipment supplied, bathroom equipment supplied, position of electric sockets and many other areas.

Testing for quality so you don't have to

This year, four judges tested 35 vehicles, assessing everything from weights and measures to Thermal Insulation Grade and recommended tyre pressures. Further merit is awarded for build quality, setting up on site, together with sleeping and living accommodation. Testing takes place during the Motorhome and Caravan Show at the NEC in October.

The competition is for trailer tents, folding campers, pop top caravans and lightweight conventional caravans with a maximum weight of 1150kg.  Manufacturers are invited to submit vehicles for evaluation.
