Anyone applying for a new passport for their overseas caravan holidays will find it has been redesigned.
The Home Office has released details of the new style documents, which feature iconic images from all over the UK, such as the Gower Peninsula and Giant's Causeway.
Each passport comes with a range of enhanced security features including a second image of the holder, additional holograms and a newly-located chip that is no longer visible.
Chief executive of the Identity and Passport Service Sarah Rapson noted the need to improve passport security for many UK travellers.
"The new design is part of our strategy to stay ahead of criminals who look to fraudulently alter or copy passports," she confirmed.
Latest Home Office statistics show more than 60,000 British tourists' passports were lost or stolen abroad between April 2009 and March 2010.
This led it to urge people to store their documents in a safe and secure place.
